I’m very pleased that we have become a place where you can actually look at real books (as opposed to the internet). When Borders closed, there was nowhere to look at craft books any more. The other chains carry hardly any, as I guess they are too specialized to take up their space.
Meanwhile, in our new shop, we have a comfortable area for browsing books and we are trying to get in the most interesting from around the world.
Last week we got a delivery of all the Sharon Miller books on traditional Shetland Lace shawl knitting. We speculate that these must be a labour of love. There are so many knitted samples and stitches in them and they can’t have a very wide audience. They are real treasures.
