New autumn kits and an exciting giveaway!

New autumn kits and an exciting giveaway!

We have some wonderful new kits launching this week. Three sweet shawlettes, and some very beautiful and intricately embroidered mittens .

Lori Versaci has designed a series of three fun shawls called Alma’s Triptych that can be sized up larger by simply adding more yarn. These sweet little shawls have been inspired by Lori’s grand-niece Alma who loves colours!

Alma’s Mini Pompoms Shawl Kit

First up is Mini Pompoms. For this shawl, we’ve chosen the wonderful and colourful Qing Fibres Merino Singles in the colour ‘Frost’, a serene lilac colour with bright pops of fuchsia and royal blue. We’ve paired it with some Uncommon thread BFL/Light DK in the colour ‘Les Fleurs’ so you can make your own bright and happy pompoms to add to the shawl. If you need a pompom maker, which is not included in the Mini Pompoms kit, we have those too!

Alma’s Mini Ribbons Shawl Kit

Our second kit is the Mini Ribbons. This one is an asymmetrically shaped shawl that uses Madelinetosh Pashmina, a luxurious blend of merino wool, silk, and cashmere in the colour ‘Cosmic Wonder Dust’. To complement the colours we have added hand-dyed Monahan ribbon in the colour ‘Blush’ to weave through the eyelet rows at the end of your shawl.

Alma’s Mini Lines Shawl Kit

Last but certainly not least is the Mini Lines. This time it’s a crescent-shaped shawl using the beautiful Lichen and Lace single ply 100% Merino wool in the colour ‘I See Seashells’. To create the ‘lines’ we’ve paired it with a playful novelty yarn from Mondo Fil called Papiyon in bright yellow for some extra texture and a small bundle of LIchen and Lace single ply merino in the colour ‘Teal Tide’ for the pretty picot edging.

All of the kits include enough yarn to make the shawls along with all the trimmings you’ll need to make your own Mini Pompoms, Ribbons, or Lines. The patterns will be available through Lori Versaci’s Ravelry page where you can purchase one individually or the set of the full triptych

Remember, if you’d like to make a bigger version you will need to buy extra yarn as the kits are only for the original size.

This larger version of the Mini Pompoms was knit using Viola Yarns and Silk/Mohair for the pompoms . Isn’t it lovely!

Late Bloomer Mittens Kit

We are super excited about this Kit! We’ve put together four gorgeous colour options for you to make these beautiful mittens from the inspiring new Issue of Making Magazine no. 10, appropriately called Intricate. The Kit and the Magazine are available for pre-order now! The official launch date of the magazine is the 23rd of October so please remember, if you order the kit or anything else with the magazine, it will all ship together after the 23rd of October.

The small size kits use 1 skein of Lichen and Lace Rustic Heathers Sport and 1 skein of Lichen and Lace Marsh Mohair Lace. For the large size there are 2 skeins of Rustic Heathers Sport.
