You may have seen this beautiful crochet blanket around our London shop, or when it was quietly released on Ravelry a few months ago. Like most handmade things, this pattern has a long and lovely history, and we thought it was about time we shared it with you. 

This new pattern book by Gudrun Johnston, “The Shetland Trader” is a favourite at Loop. It has so many patterns that we want to knit. Most of us have our eye on more than one. I adore the lace cardi on the front, and would love to see it done in Madelinetosh Prairie, if it can make gauge. I must swatch! Okay we got a bit excited about the Kozmos and Pearl combo, and knit up a shawl.  Susan adapted the Lala Scarf, from Greetings from Knit Cafe, into a shawl, by making it a little longer. She needed just under one skein of the Juno Pearl in Golden Peach and 1.5 skeins of the Alchemy Kozmos in Old Rose. We figure she could just as easily have made the edging a little less flamboyant and got it out of one skein, as it is in the book. Pretty, huh?
