We journeyed north last week, introducing you to the best Scandinavia has to offer at Loop. Today we’re staying north, but a little closer to home – Scotland! Loop is full of beautiful yarn, patterns and gifts from this textile history-rich land and we’re so pleased to be sharing them with you in their best autumn colours.

Lilith at Old Maiden Aunt has dyed up some wonderful new yarn colours for us. There are eight new colours in all, including two very wearable yellows (something we have been short on, until recently). This is one of my favourite yarns and she has now dyed my favourite colour, Ghillie Dhu, which is a lovely chartreuse green. I don’t know if I can justify yet another shawl in this colour. These are the much loved Ysolda Teague, Veyla mitts from Whimsical Little Knits Two. They are a great way to use-up left-over yarn, as they only take between 10-20g of yarn to complete. I made this pair before Christmas with some left over Old Maiden Aunt yarn in Dreich colour. I used vintage crystal buttons to finish the cuff. They were so pretty. We just got a fresh delivery of Old Maiden Aunt Yarns and this batch is really lovely! I’ve seen Veyla made up successfully, in all sorts of yarns. I really admired a pair by one of our …
