Loop somehow manages the impossible by being everything you’d want from a yarn shop – cool, edgy and vibrant whilst at the same time they are traditional, quirky and quaint. The wide choice of yarns from all over the world, the knowledgeable staff and the great patterns available make it a perfect place for all yarn enthusiasts.

  4. Marta G.G. says:

Oh my god! I absolutely love everything in that book. Congratulations. It’s very difficult to get such a beautiful group of patterns!! I’m sure it would be so difficult to choose one to start!!

  5. Michelle Kirkland says:

Everything! But mostly the masses and masses of inspiring yarn. It is impossible to visit and not want to cast on all the things with all the yarn.

  6. Magdalena says:

I dropped in at Loop when visiting London back in February. I loved how colourful your shop is and how full of inspiration.

  7. Paula says:

I love Loops sweet delivery packages, all wrapped up like a present.

  8. Jules says:

What I love about Loop is the atmosphere, that something you feel when you walk into a shop, sigh deeply and instantly feel like you have arrived somewhere special.

It goes without saying that all the yarns are gorgeous, with wonderful patterns, the staff friendly and knowledgeable and all the buttons and fripperies that you simply can’t find anywhere else.

  9. Saira says:

Yummy yarn goodness!! Everything you could imagine in one place :)

  10. charlotte Medcalf says:

I haven’t been lucky enough to be able to visit the store but I love the website, the blog, Instagram feed, pretty much everything!!

  11. Marlies says:

I have sadly only been to Loop once (of course, I have ordered online many times) because I live in Austria, but I just love the atmosphere of creativity in the store.

  12. Alicia says:

Why do I love Loop? Every time I visit I think I’ve checked the whole stock, but there’s always something new that’s been missed and I have the perfect excuse for a return visit!

  13. Gemma says:

My favourite thing is the atmosphere. The staff are there but happy for you to browse and rummage. Despite the modern products, there’s a lovely old-fashioned feel to the shop- it’s like a sweetshop for yarn!

  14. Philippa Swann says:

I live too far away to visit, but love visiting virtually – such an inspiring and eclectic mix of patterns, yarns, magazines and stuff. Magic!

  15. Linda Rumsey says:

The yarn of course! Looking forward to casting on the Meandering Shawl as I’ve always wanted to try brioche stitch.

  16. Teresa Day says:

I’ve been to the shop but I love Loop because it just gives you that creative (warm fuzzy calming) feeling even without being there, it just inspires you with all the beautiful things… still dreaming….

  17. Loop is such an inspiration, both to knitters who are fired up by its amazing range of yarns and patterns and to the independent craftspeople and entrepreneurs who are fostered by its creative economy. I love it!

  18. Andrea says:

For me Loop is the ultimate experience of a knitter’s heaven. And not only knitter’s. The whole shop breathes inspiration and passion for creating quirky and beautiful things to wear, for the house or other. I cannot get enough of the gorgeous colours and textures. As soon as I enter your wonderful shop I feel like I have stepped into a wonderland. I feel relaxed and energized at the same time. The way you decorated and arranged the space it feels like a good friend’s living room where we sit down to a great chat along some inspired stitching crafts. A place where we understand and nurture each other. Everytime I visit your shop I literary live and breath Loop for a few months afterwards. I find myself recalling a display or certain colours, or even dream it! To some Loop may be like a museum. To me, a museum is a stuffy, smelly, old place where we have to tiptoe quietly. Loop is so much more. It is a magical lively place to meet other artistic minds and share our passion for creating beautiful, unique, yet practical things. I simply LOVE everything about Loop. If I could I would buy every yarn you sell – especially the bespoke hand-dyed colours. I wouldn’t eat or sleep and just knit away day and night! Happy birthday, Loop!

  19. Sue says:

When anyone mentions London I always think of LOOP – there is never enough time to browse & buy.
The samples to look at just make you want to cast on another project.
Walking back to the train station with your LOOP bag full of Loop goodies and a smile on your face is just the best

  20. Adriana Salgado says:

All the inspiration, you come out with so many ideas! and yarn!

  21. Neza says:

I’d love to visit Loop some day, but until then I love all the inspiration I can get online!

  22. Being a yarnaholic I love everything about Loop. It’s inspirational! Jacqui

  24. Jenny Berman says:

Loop makes me want to move to London! Until then I can read your blog, admire your photos, and hopefully win your book!

  25. Wei-Lin says:

As a born again knitter after a 15 year hiatus. Meghan taught me about tension squares, gauge, knitting in the round, the magic loop, different cast ons, grafting, seaming and my favourite: cabling. All of this in your “Intermediate class”. I went from wondering why my finished items were so small and only being able to knit flat socking stitch things with an ugly seam, to giving anything a go. And nearly always succeeding!

I also discovered all the gorgeous yarns which are also very inspiring. They are all so beautiful, each a work of art in it’s own right. I am lucky that you are my world class LYS.

    Thank you Loop!

  26. Donna says:

Best thing about Loop? It has to be the amazing yarns you stock, something for every taste and always tempting. Happy 10th Anniversary to you.

  27. Trish Austad says:

Your shop is sooooo pretty that it alone makes me want to move to London and spend every Thursday evening with you! So much creativity and so many delicious yarns. But since upping sticks isn’t an option, instead I find huge inspiration in your gorgeous Instagram feed and blog posts. Loop’s 10 is a perfect testament to everything that’s so wonderful about your shop. :)

  28. jenny knott says:

The window displays are always so inviting and creative. It creates excitement before I even enter the store. Staff is very helpful and patient with the decision process. The pile is big but the wallet isn’t:( Looking forward to the book of exciting patterns from fabulous designers.

  29. Michelle says:

I love loop because the yarn selection is really curated, not just chosen to fit the idea of the standard selection that a yarn shop should carry. Even ordering from the other side of the world I know that the yarns are going to be beautiful and look and feel fantastic when knitted.

  30. Debbie S says:

I so enjoy receiving your emails and looking at your website with the beautiful yarns! It’s fun to see what yarns you have that I don’t see in the USA.

  31. Your patterns are amazing!

  32. Sarah says:

I love that Loop feels so warm and cosy, and that I feel utterly welcome to browse there for hours if I so desire (and I always do!), plus that all of the Loopettes are super-knowledgeable and willing to help with yarn ideas and colour combinations. It’s so wonderful that it’s always remained my LYS of choice, even when I moved to Singapore!

  33. LuisaM says:

Yarn of course!!! The atmosphere is lovely, the yarn display and the patterns on display.

  34. Felicity says:

I love Loop because as an addicted knitter I feel right at home browsing all the beautiful yarns and pattern books. One day the person who served me spotted that I was wearing my Sous Sous jumper even though I has a coat over it – full marks for keen observation!

  35. Katrina says:

LOOP has a je ne sais quoi that makes it like no other yarn shop. It has quality and charm and is very, very special. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOOP!

  36. Alison Hellyer says:

    All the beautiful wool

  37. Sue Robinson says:

A very special, dare I say magical place that keeps drawing me back. Love the rickety stairs. And of course all of the glorious yarn you just can’t find anywhere else. Very difficult to choose which to take home with. Also the knowledgeable staff who are there if you need them.

  38. Nia Kirwin says:

Haven’t experienced Loop in person (but would love to one day!), but I love the love of yarn and knitting that the website exudes :)

  39. Carol Gresham says:

I think the attention to detail is the best thing about Loop, ordering online is such an experience, when the package arrives it’s all wrapped up and presented beautifully, it’s like Christmas has come with your order x

  40. Tracey Lane says:

Loop is such a beautiful shop full of gorgeous yarns and I’m going to visit it very soon it’s on my list and I’m saving hard!! ❤️

  41. Ingrid says:

It is an excuse to come to London, I just love the ambience, warmth and just the experience of being in such a lovely shop. I would have loved to have had my own wool shop in my twenties, visiting loop makes up in sime part for that dream never being fulfilled.

  42. Isabel says:

What I like the most is the wide range of lovely yarn! It’s so difficult to choose only one.

  43. Naomi Bowie says:

Well, you’d have to be loopy not to want Loop10! The patterns provide an excellent excuse for buying the very special yarns Loop stocks – as if one is needed…..

  44. Marilyn says:

Being in the middle of the USA I will probably never visit the Loop except electronically, but I anxiously await my first order of yarn and the new anniversary book. Photos are beautiful.

  45. Jeska says:

For me, Loop represents a calming and inspirational constant in an otherwise somewhat turbulent life. From my first hop skip and jump from my childhood home off Upper Street to the old shop in Cross Street (which I used to vist often before, when it was a shop selling old tools) to the new shop in Camden Passage, I have found that I always come away feeling extremely content. Poorer and unnecessarily yarn rich yes, but happy certainly! Thanks for many happy memories and well done on a beautiful book!

  46. Charlotte says:

I love that Loop feels like a secret Aladdin’s cave full of unique and unusual things. And of course the amazing selection of yarn and books.

  47. Elaine kemp says:

Loop is just a kaleidoscope of colours and textures which makes your heart sing!? A truly magical place and one that you want to return to again and again. Heavenly made I adore the shop!!

  48. Anna says:

I have never visited the shop in real life but I enjoy reading the blog and browsing the webshop. A friend of mine visits London regularly and sometimes brings yarn goodies from Loop back home to me ;-) Hopefully a copy of Loop’s 10 will find its way to me later this autumn – the designs are fabulous!

  49. Dee says:

I’ve only been to Loop once on a trip to visit my cousin. It was the prettiest shop and a very lovely April. I hope to visit again one day or at least try mail ordering a special loop yarn. My favorite thing was the friendly staff.

  50. Dana Barbieri says:

I’m across the ocean in NY and haven’t visited your shop yet but from the web and the new book I can tell you are filled with awesome yarns and an inspiring atmosphere.

  51. asteride says:

I love Loop’s blog. Is so inspiring! Next time I’ll be in London I want to visit the store. And be lost in the beauty.

  52. Sabine says:

    My favorite thing about LOOP………
it makes me feel like being in a very special dream- and wonderland. Whenever I need it, or want it.
Like a little children in a candy shop. You can see everything, what your heart desires.
And many things of which you did not yet know that you desire. ;)
You can see the love behind every pic, blog posting or detail. ♥
Happy Birthday to you and all the best for many more creative years.

  53. pukemoana says:

my fav thing about loop: just being in the shop is inspiring–no wait, simply walking past and looking in the window is inspiring. Have only been to loop once (don’t live in or near the UK) but remember the experience vividly :)

  54. Angie Ross says:

The first time I visited the shop, it took my breath away; everywhere you looked, there was a new delight; yarn of every colour imaginable, pattern books, and buttons and notions; knitted samples to inspire; I only get to visit 2-3 times a year, but I still feel like that, each time.

  55. Lulu says:

I love to see the variety of yarns! More patterns please!

  56. Philippa says:

The stunning and inspiring selection of yarns, that make me want to knit all the projects!
