Christmas at Loop. Loop, London. www.loopknitlounge.com

Make sure to read to the end of the post to find how you can win a £20 gift voucher to spend at Loop!

Gift Ideas for Sock Knitters at Loop, London. www.loopknitlounge.com
First a tribute to socks – the portable, practical one skein wonder project. It’s no surprise there are so many knitters who love to make and wear them! First find inspiration with a project – sock queen Rachel Coopey has that covered with book ‘Socks‘ and the pattern ‘Hippity Hop‘ which she designed for Loop!

Next you’ll need needles and if you favour double pointed needles, we have it covered! Blue Sky Alpacas Rosewood needles are handmade by artisans in Vitenam, who receive a fair wage for their skilled work. Each size comes in a tin with a different design and colour, so you can collect them all and know that your purchase also contributes to an educational trust fund for the make0r’s children.
We also have bamboo and metal needles from Chiagoo, both in neat zip up cases and also Addi Colibri Lace & Basic Double Points. The unique design feature of these means each needle has one standard tip and one fine point, so you can work with the one you prefer or use different ends depending on the project. Genius! And while we’re on the subject of good ideas, why not invest in some Coil Needle Holders? Use to keep your needles in order when in storage or when on the move.

Of course you’ll need yarn, shown here is The Uncommon Thread Tough Sock Turbillion (our exclusive colour!) with Leaden, plus our custom colour from Madelinetosh in Tosh Sock ‘London Cosmopolitan’. After all that hard work, finish your socks with ease with some sock blockers – not only do they neaten your knits, it allows them to dry much quicker.

Gift Ideas for Beginner Knitters at Loop, London. www.loopknitlounge.com

What could be better than the gift of knitting? Give a beginners a boost with a bumper crop of haberdashery from the Clover Accessory Kit – this nifty purse includes stitch markers, a needle gauge, darning needles, point protectors, a row counter and stitch holders, (many of which are available separately too if you need to top up your own kit!) Also pictured is a walnut wood needle gauge which includes a handy ruler on the side and all of it is kept tidy in a pretty project bag

Add a pair of chunky 10mm needles and a gorgeous skein or two of on Mrs Moon Plump and you’ll soon have any budding knitter whipping up a cowl over the holidays!

Our selection of beginners books will also get you started and guide you through your first projects. Shown here, Simple Knitting, Learn To Knit Love to Knit, Stitch Encyclopedia, Finishing Techniques for Hand Knitters and Charts Made Simple.

Gift Ideas for Crocheters at Loop, London. www.loopknitlounge.com

And we haven’t forgotten you crochet lovers either. Beautiful books such as The New Crochet and the stocking filler sized Hello Crochet! are full of techniques and inspiring projects. Or use the Crochet Stitch Encyclopedia to guide you though every stitch you’ve ever wanted to know.

For hooks, you can go big with a 25mm whopper from Loopy Mango, or use the ultimate in handmade luxury courtesy of Furls. These hooks are hand carved to ergonomic perfection using the finest materials such as Olivewood and Rosewood.  Or if you know someone who needs to stock up with a hook in every size, the full set of Tulip hooks with their soft grip handles come in a pink roll up case

And to top up your tool kit, the cutest heart shaped stitch markers and a gauge that works for both needles and hooks.

Gift Ideas for Haberdashery Lovers at Loop, London. www.loopknitlounge.com

Now, if there is one thing any crafter has a love of, it’s haberdashery. Threads from Sajou in every shade make sure you have the right colour for darning (with a darning egg!) and embroidering knits, while Wool Soap from Twig & Horn keeps them smelling lovely. Essential tools such as Sajou’s Tape Measure, Rosewood Cable Needles and Sajou Blocking Pins prove that things can be useful and beautiful too. Our selection of buttons (shown here Red Riding Hood, Wooden Mouse, Vintage Pearl and Brown Rabbit) and shawl pins add the finishing touch. And for the knitter who has everything, what about a Vintage Bakelite Yarn holder? Practical, and also a lovely piece of knitting history that looks just charming on the shelf.

Gift Ideas for Loop Lovers at Loop, London. www.loopknitlounge.com

And here’s a category that everyone should fit into… the lovers of all things Loop! Handmade needle gauges help you keep track of your needles sizings and are the ideal mini gift for those chums at the knitting group. We also have all our anniversary yarns that were custom dyed for us for that exclusive special skein of yarn (check out this blog post for a reminder of all the amazing shades and patterns to match!)

Plus, you can’t call your knitting library complete until you’ve got a copy of Juju’s Loops and our anniversary publication Loop’s 10. Top it all off with a Loop tote bag and you’ve got yourself a gift bag too!

Of course if you really can’t decide, don’t forget we sell gift vouchers for any amount. We do not sell these via the online shop, so please give the Loopettes a call and we will be happy to help  +44 (0)20 7288 1160
