New Sock Yarn At Loop ~ Twist Light

Madelinetosh‘s new sock yarn Twist Light is now at Loop. The yarn content  is 75% super wash merino and 25% nylon, making up the perfect blend for a soft and durable, hardwearing sock . This generous skein of 384 meters (420 yards) per 100 grams is more than enough for a pair of socks or with two skeins, knit up a generous sized lacy shawl. It is hand dyed in small batches and our first shipment, of the new colours, is already at the shop. More colours will be arriving very soon!

We’ve added 10 new colours to our already huge colour selection in this beautiful yarn. It’s one of our favourites. Prairie comes in a single ply, merino laceweight, perfect for shawls or garments. Soft and luxurious , the perfect weight for a summer shawl.

All of these beautiful new colours will be arriving in all of the madelinetosh bases that we stock in the next few months including Prairie, Merino Light, Twist Light, Pasmina, Vintage and Home! And in the Autumn we’ll be getting in Tosh DK to replace the Merino DK which has now been discontinued.

  1. Gorgeous yarn, but who would expect anything less from Madelinetosh? And the most perfect colour for me, as I keep snakes! My fingers are firmly crossed.

  2. Impossible to choose but the smokestack/optic would be a lovely starting point (added to my wish list!)

  3. Wonderful colours! Snake caught my eye straight away. I also love Harvest. I can already envision a gorgeous pair of comfy socks and a squishy cosy shawl. And I really wish I lived closer to London and could join the woolly tattoo workshop with Tiff!!

  4. The prize skein would work in so many ways for anyone especially good in a combination with a speckled yarn from the range to add depth to a project. The variation in the deeper colour would add richness without a solid heavy block which gives the freedom to use with brighter speckled colour way or as a rich standalone in a project.

The photos on the blog are excellent to see the new colours and I love reading the names of each one

  5. This gorgeous colour, snake, would look stunning in the Free your Fade shawl, which is currently my work in progress.

  6. The range of shades you have in Merino Light is inspiring.I would love to knit a special pair of socks for myself in Snake.

  11. I finished my new cardigan last month, using Madelinetosh Tosh Sock in “onyx”. I loved knitting it but after blocking the yarn is even more lovely. “Snake” is a beautiful colourway. I can see why you are obsessed :-)

  13. I am a big fan of Madeleinetosh yarn. The Snake is very attractive! I have a dread/fascination with snakes so this would definitely be made into something gorgeous!

  14. Oooh that snake colour is just incredible- as I said on Instagram, I can see a sous sous in snake in my knitting future!in the meantime a single skein would make a Woollenberry shawl…

  15. Wow! This yarn is gorgeous. I would love to use it to make a short sleeved shawl. Thanks for the chance to win!

  16. Spoilt for how easy I shall definitely ordering some tosh light for another Flaum this yarn is exquisite my favourite of all time and I keep buying more snake would be perfect

  17. I cannot resist the delightful colours of MadelineTosh – it just seems right that merino light comes back home to Africa! And I use that as my excuse to buy it :)

  24. I would choose Snake to complete the outfit of my Julie Arkell figure, newly but alas not yet completely dressed during a wonderfull workshop in the basement of Loop last Sunday. The colour would complement the orangebrown, beige and blue I already used, and the quality of the materials used! Would love to start this ‘fall-figure’ off as a family heritage piece for my little girl and her girls/boys to come :-)

  25. Love these colors! I’m wondering am I the only one thinking what fabulous project bags are pictured. I’d love to have one of them

  26. Hi! Thanks for this giveaway! I haven’t knit with Madelinetosh yarn yet, and the Snake colourway is glorious! Fingers crossed

  27. These yarns are really beautiful. Sometimes I like to go for really colourful yarns and sometimes for natural, earthy tones. These seem like a beautiful marriage of the two. win-win.

  28. What IS it about MadTosh? Their colorways are so unique, so saturated, so…so…so hard to say “no” to!!
I’ve seen complex inky blue black before but never a green black version. Now I have to sift through patterns until I find the perfect match for Snake…I have until the end of the month!
Thank you for doing a giveaway!
