Celebrating the Beauty of Nature with CaMaRose

Celebrating the Beauty of Nature with CaMaRose

If you’re anything like us, you’ve grown to love the sumptuous yarns from Danish yarn producer CaMaRose. The beautiful products from this one-woman show never fail to amaze, and her new line using organic, natural, un-dyed fibres is no different.

CaMaRose Snefnug Natur is the un-dyed version of the original Snefnug (snowflake) yarn. But don’t assume ‘un-dyed’ means monotone here! These yarns come in a gorgeous range of 11 naturally occurring hues, from deep greys to pure whites and rich browns to rosy creams.

Trine Bertelsen of CaMaRose has been working on bringing this blend to your needles for years and is delighted it has finally come to fruition. To celebrate the launch, she designed the lovely crocheted Inga’s Jacket, whose houndstooth-like pattern beautifully demonstrates the richness and diversity of these natural colours. The pattern is available to purchase on the CaMaRose website and through Ravelry.

Snefnug Natur blends 55% undyed Peruvian alpaca fibres and10% non-mulesing merino wool from South America around a core of Egyptian organic cotton. The result is a beautifully soft Aran weight yarn that is perfect for baby and children’s knitwear as well as oversize bulky knits for adults.

Zinnia Meets Rhubarb

In the weeks since we first launched Mette Mehlsen’s new Zinnia Scarf Kit it has become clear that you all love it as much as we do, and we’re sure the same will be true of the brand new Rhubarb colourway of the same gorgeous scarf! In delicate pinks, purples, and greens, this lighter version of the kit beautifully showcases the intricate stitch pattern of this lovely design. The Rhubarb Zinnia Scarf Kit is available to order from today and includes 24 cakes of Plant Dyed By Mehlsen yarn in pastel tones along with the scarf pattern and a Loop cotton bag. We will also have more kits in the original colourway available soon—stay tuned!

Springtime Crafting Classes

Spring is always the season of inspiration, a perfect time to start a new project or learn a new skill, and some of our favourite crafting teachers are joining us to help spark your creativity! Celia Pym will host her ever-popular Mending Workshop on Zoom on Saturday 14 May (hurry, there are only a few spots left in this one!) On the same weekend, Duygu Turgut Gökpinar will host no less than three sessions of her Punch Needle Class, with morning sessions on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May covering the basics of regular punch needle and an afternoon session on Saturday 14 May exploring adjustable finer punch needle for more intricate punch needle embroidery. Duygu visited Loop last summer to host her first-ever London class and it was a huge hit. We are so excited to have her back!

If you can’t wait until May to get your hands moving, join us next weekend for a two-day Bespoke Stitched Map Masterclass with Ekta Kaul. Students will learn all the steps to stitching a bespoke map of a special place, from developing a drawing of the map to transferring your drawing on to fabric and using a variety of stitches to embroider and embellish the landscape. The class will take place over Zoom on the afternoons of Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 February.

Happy crafting, Loopers!

  1. I was wondering if Mette Mehlsen would consider making one of her beautiful scarfs for us KNITTERS! I love the colors etc- I probably could figure out the crochet- but maybe I could order colors and figure out small knitted squares!
