Cuddly Toys and Colourful Joys

Cuddly Toys and Colourful Joys

It’s home time! Our collection of Sophie Home has arrived, just in time for cosy nights in and rainy days with the curtains drawn.

Sophie Dias knows just how to set the scene for cuddles with your cuties, offering super soft toys and blankies that will keep little ones cooing. Her Knitted Baby Rattle is perfect for brand new babes, toddlers will adore Knitted Soft Toys, and the Folk Baby Blanket will see you through all the ups and downs of the early years.

Sophie’s beautifully designed rattles and toys are a perfect way for curious hands to explore through gripping, grabbing, and gnawing. Dogs, deer, bunnies, cats, and zebras are machine knit with sweet hand-stitched faces will fill your home with joy and wonder. Plus, Sophie’s Folk Baby Blanket depicts classic characters and settings found in folk tales from around the world.

The materials here are gold-standard: ethically sourced azo-free dyes and organic cottons plus the backing of CE and UKCA testing make these darling critters a perfect choice for your own family and for those you love. Plus it’s all machine washable for when your little bundle of joy has loved their Sophie toy just a bit too much (tumble drying is not recommended). These items make incredible gifts for the holidays, birthdays, or any other day you want to celebrate.

Sophie’s Rattles and Toys are CE certified suitable from birth

Sophie Home is an independently owned business based in London. Sophie donates 5% of her profits to Choose Love, a fantastic organisation supporting refugees, so you can feel secure in the knowledge that kitting out your home is helping someone in need get closer to their feeling of home as well.

Darling Giraffe Toy

This Giraffe has travelled a long way, but it’ll be right at home in any child’s toy chest!

If you’re in the market for more animals to add to your menagerie, the Darling Baby Guggi Giraffe Toy has travelled all the way from Denmark to join the troupe! This guy will fit right in with Sophie’s animals — he’s also machine knit in organic cotton and cuddly to boot! Plus, he hails from an independently owned business as well. Put this one on your gift list for the holiday season!

More La Bien Aimée Confetti — Now in Ochre Too!

La BiLa Bien Aimée’s Corrie Confetti in ochre is a gorgeous golden green colour with flecks of all your favourite LBA colours mixed throughout.

We’ve waxed lyrical about La Bien Aimée’s Corrie Confetti in these pages before. Need we say more? This delightful worsted weight yarn from the beautiful mind of Aimée Gille is always a joy to encounter. It’s now in the shop in Greybow, Aimée’s Peach Sweater, and the brand new colour Ochre and the possibilities just seem endless. Brava Aimée!

Colour Mixology with Liz Baltesz

Design your own personal colour swatch

What’s life without a little colour? If you’ve been longing to bring a bit more brightness (or a wider mix of dark hues — we don’t judge!) into your knits, our new class with Liz Baltesz is just the ticket. Working from a photo or physical object, each participant will build a personalised colour palette and play with different ways of working multiple colours into your knits. No previous experience with colourwork is required — all you need to know how to do is cast on, knit, and cast off. Join us for this two-Sunday series on 19 and 26 November to learn all about the tricks of tonal knits.

Nathalie Lété Puzzles and Scarves

There’s more from the wonderful world of Nathalie Lété! We have more of the incredible jigsaw puzzles based on her paintings of Foxes, Deer, and Birds, pus two more scarves. The silk Hedgehog Scarf celebrates some of the more shy inhabitants of our gardens, as hedgehogs and rabbits explore with owls looking on. The deer takes centre stage in the forested scene of Nathalie’s cotton Bambi Scarf, surrounded by ferns and fungi. These pieces are just exquisite.

(Vi)laines

(Vi)laines “Fing”

More scrumptious “Yarnlings” from (Vi)laines have arrived in the shop! We adore these Boulettes Chausettes (sock yarn) and Boulettes Solitaires Fing (fingering weight singles) inspired by “naughty girls” (the literal translation of “vilaines”) who push boundaries with both the devilish and angelic sides of their personas! With evocative names like “Agatha’s Crimes”, “Isabel’s Journey”, and “Robbing the Bakery”, we’re sure your imagination will run wild!

Hush Feature

We are so so flattered by the lovely profile the fashion and lifestyle brand Hush published about Loop founder Susan. Loop and Hush have so much in common — both are led by female founders who came to London from abroad and who have brought a whole world of textiles to the city. Give their editorial pages a read!

Happy weekend to all you lovely crafters.

  1. Visiting Loop in London is always a joy. Whenever I travel to London, my first stop is here. Would spend hours just looking at the samples, the yarn and the beautiful display of exquisite artifacts.
