Our Edinburgh Guests – book signings, kits and launches!

It’s now less than a week until The Edinburgh Yarn Festival. We have everything packed up, and we’re starting to get very excited about our trip up to Scotland! We have so many exciting new things lined up, that will be launching at EYF. But don’t worry if you’re not able to attend, we will have lots of our new items available in store soon, and some of our books and kits are available right now.

The first thing we want to share with you this week is the schedule of who will be spending some time on our stand, and when. We can’t wait for all these lovely visitors and hope you can join us!

On Friday:
Bristol Ivy from 11:00am to 12:00pm
Emily Foden of Viola  from 2:00pm to 3:00pm
Fiona Alice from 2:30pm to 3:30pm
Pauline of Lain’amouree from 3:30pm to 4:30pm

On Saturday:
Emily Foden of Viola from 11:00 am to 12:00pm
Helga Isager from 12:30pm to 1:30pm

Bristol Ivy will be doing a special meet and greet on our stand, H1, while she is there with us. Bristol will have lots of copies of her wonderful book ‘Knitting Outside the Box‘, and will also have book plates to sign for you in case you already have a copy of her lovely book!

Emily Foden of Viola Yarns has dyed up a beautiful batch of her Organic Merino DK for us that we have used for our latest design that we are launching at EYF – ‘Mabel’s Sister’, which has been designed by another one of great guests, ex-Loopette Fiona Alice. We’ll have copies of ‘Knits About Winter‘, which launched at the end of last year, and will also have book plates to sign.

We will have Viola yarn, hand dyed by Emily, on our stand too! There will be limited quantities of the Viola Merino Fingering, as well as a little bit of her Organic Merino DK and a bunch of beautiful kits of ‘Mabel’s Sister’ that we have made up. The kits come with all of the hand-dyed yarn you need, a printed pattern and it all comes in a special Loop EYF bag to take it home in, with drawings by our friend Julie Arkell.

Fiona Alice will be on our stand with copies of her book, ‘Take Heart: A Transatlantic Knitting Journey‘. Fiona used to work at Loop when she lived in London, and we are so proud of how well she is doing now! We are so happy to have these amazing books from Pom Pom Press with us.

Fiona and Emily will be on the Loop stand together for a short while on Friday, which will be wonderful. We’re honoured to have them both, as both of their design efforts went into our new pattern, Mabel’s Sister. The pattern was written by Fiona for Loop, and the yarn was expertly dyed by Emily. What a treat to have these two talented women, with a long history with Loop together with us!

Stay tuned for next weeks post, when we’ll share all the details about Mabel’s Sister!

Our last guest on the Loop stand, H1, will be Pauline, the dyer behind Lain’amouree. She will be with us on both Friday and Saturday, so you will have plenty of opportunity to come and say hello. We will have lots of yarn from Lain’amouree on our stand, as well as kits for the Olives in November shawl by Kirsten Kapur. We used the Aphrodite base from Lain’amouree for our version, and the sample for this will also be on the stand for you to have a look at.

We have kits for Olives in November available in store and online now! There is also a fabulous new colour from Lain’amouree that we have in the Aphrodite base, ‘Wools & Co’. It will be with us at EYF, but is also available in our London and online shop now.

Loop will exclusively have the newest volume of Interpretations, Volume 6, on our stand over the weekend at EYF. There will also be samples from Interpretations 6 for you to look at and try on. It will be available in store and online shortly afterwards.

‘Stitches’ will be launching on our stand at EYF on Saturday and we couldn’t be more thrilled. We will have Helga Isager’s new book ‘Stitches‘ and Helga will be with us on our stand on the Saturday, so she will be able to sign your copies for you! We’ll have samples from ‘Stitches’ and we’re very honoured to have Helga with us.

Loop will also have two kits, for two of the wonderful inventive patterns in the Stitches book. One kit will be for the Snowy scarf in a special Loop palette, and one will be for the Cloudy sweater. Cloudy is a very beautiful piece, almost like a knitted blouse in its’ style.

Stitches will be available in store from Tuesday 26th March. However, we will be opening up pre-orders for the book from Thursday 21st March, so you can grab your copy early! If you pre-order a copy, then it will be sent out from March 26th onwards. The two kits will be available at Loop from Thursday, March 21st in limited amounts.

Lastly, we will have the final Madder Anthology which has just been launched, on our stand. This is available in our shop now, both in store and online!

We stock some of the gorgeous yarns used in this book; the Woolfolk TOV, the Quince & Co. Tern and the mYak Baby Yak Lace. This is another great book from Carrie Bostick Hoge, full of versatile pieces that will fit into any wardrobe.

All of our kits at EYF will come in our special project bags, which will also be available in our London and online shop in limited quantities. We have held some back for those of you who would love to have one of the bags but are not able to get to the fair and they’ll be available from Thursday March 21st.

Thank you to Julie Arkell for the whimsical drawings, giving a nod to Scotland with the hare in our Loop logo. We hope they make you smile.

We hope to see you up in Edinburgh. Swing by our stand and say hello to us and our great guests if you’re there. Happy Knitting to you wherever you are!
