Our London shop is re-opening + a new Loop kit!

Our London shop is re-opening + a new Loop kit!

Hurray! We’re so looking forward to welcoming you back to our London shop, we’ve missed you all! In this post we are detailing all the measures we are going to be taking to make visiting and shopping with us as safe as possible for you. We also have a new booking system for shopping appointments, which will be explained here too.

Booking Appointments

Bookings are free of course but please use our website to book a slot or give us a call on our dedicated booking line (0737 621 5764) and we’ll see what we can arrange! Bookings are for 45 minutes at a time.

If you need any help before your visit email us at shop@loopknitting.com or give us a call on our bookings line, and we can try and get things ready for you before your arrival to make use of your time in the best and most relaxing way. (For anything other than bookings please ring us on our normal landline phone number: 020 7288 1160).

If you are outside the UK or do not live in London and would like a personal video shopping appointment, you can use WhatsApp video call on +447376215764.

NOTE: We ask that for video appointments that you email us on shop@loopknitting.com or ring us on our dedicated booking line (0737 621 5764) so that we can make sure we have a staff member available to give you the attention you may need.

At any one time in the shop we are happy to have up to 3 people spread over the two floors of the shop. If you are not comfortable with this, get in touch with us and we’ll do our best to accommodate you so you feel happy and relaxed on your visit.

If you arrive early and the shop is ‘full’ we will kindly ask you to wait outside.

We ask that you arrive on time for your booked time slot as we will be honouring everyone’s booking. So, for example, if you have booked at 3:00 and need your 45 minutes, please be on time as other people might have an appointment at 4:00 and we want to respect each person’s booking time. if you are 15 minutes late, and have not called to let us know, we will let another have your place. We use the time in between time slots to clean the shop.

We will of course welcome you in the shop if you are in the neighbourhood or walking by if there is room in the shop. We can also take your number and, if you like, send you a text when a space opens up.

Social distancing

To ensure social distancing we are limiting the number of people in the shop at any one time. We will have a reduced number of people over our two floors in the London shop.

To help with this we ask that if you are booked in for an appointment that you come on your own, or only with another person that is from your household. (of course your children are welcome to come with you).

We ask that you wear a mask before entering our shop. If you do not have one we are happy to supply you with one. Hand sanitiser will be provided, as you enter the shop. Both a face covering and hand sanitiser must be used before entering Loop.

Loop's London shop is open again!

Handling yarn

You can touch but we ask that you refrain from holding yarn up to your face.

Cashless transactions

Until further notice we will only be accepting cashless transactions through credit and debit cards or ApplePay.

Cleaning

We will be practicing frequent sanitising of all surfaces and card terminals, door handles, baskets and our perspex till screen throughout the day.

Returns

At this time returns may take a little longer as we are putting the returned parcels aside for 3 days after they are delivered before handling them.

Open days and reduced hours

For now we are operating a ‘soft opening’ where we are open Tuesdays – Saturdays from 12 until 5pm to the public. This gives us time for our staff to arrive safely to work, unpack deliveries, manage our online shop and make sure everything is clean and as good as it can be before we open our doors to welcome you.

A new Loop kit!

Pop Spots shawl at Loop London

We’re very excited to launch our new Loop kit on Sunday 26th July! This new kit will be for the Pop Spots shawl designed by Juju Vail for Loop, and features beautiful yarns dyed for us by Qing Fibre, The Uncommon Thread and La Bien Aimee.

The sample shown was knitted by our wonderful Loopette Valerie Mamo, who has just moved back to France, and it is Valerie’s colour palette we chose to use for this kit as well, as we loved it so much! Valerie also modified the lace border and we have used her version of the pattern in this kit.

Pop Spots is a crescent shaped shawl. Valerie’s version astonished us with its’ rich and stunning colours! We’re sure you will find it a great knit.

The kit includes a skein of each of the three yarns, and an A5 booklet of the printed pattern and a Loop cotton bag.

Happy knitting and we hope to see you soon!
