Scout Mini Is the Colourwork Project of Dreams — Scout’s Honour!

Florence Spurling’s Scout Shawl has been a favourite at Loop for years, and we were so happy to introduce Scout’s little sister, Scout Mini Neckerchief in December.

The very lucky among you snagged one of the first batch of kits we released late in 2022. Now, in the new year, the Scout Mini has well and truly arrived, with kits available in two colourways and classes scheduled for the spring! This wonderful neckerchief is a dream for colourwork lovers and those who don’t yet know they’re colourwork lovers. It’s an infinitely wearable homage to the original Scout Shawl with the same intricate patterns and subtle shaping in a compact package.

We absolutely adore Florence’s original colourway for the Scout Mini, but we couldn’t resist giving this beauty a Loop twist. The new Scout Mini Kit colourway combines pinks, greens, and a neutral for a luscious, verdant, and hopeful palette perfect for the bright months ahead. Whether you choose Florence’s original colourway or the Loop special, each kit comes with all the yarn you’ll need for this pattern (without having to buy five full skeins of yarn) as well as our special Dove of Peace drawstring project bag, which is the perfect size for this knit. The pattern is available as a PDF through Ravelry and Florence Spurling Studio.

For those who want a bit more support as they navigate this wonderful pattern, Florence will be visiting Loop this spring to walk you through all you need to know! We have two Scout Mini Workshop sessions available with Florence on 1 May and 13 April. All workshop participants will receive a PDF of the pattern when they sign up. Hurry though, two sessions of this workshop have already sold out! We can’t wait to see you in the shop.

A Note on Shipping for International Customers

Royal Mail has had a cyber attack and they have temporarily suspended all International post in and out of the country. We hope this will be resolved soon, but this means that there is a delay in sending your post. We’re so sorry, but this is out of our control. As soon as we are able, we’ll resume sending out all our International orders which are all packed and ready to go! If you are placing a new order, we have the option for you to choose DHL courier at checkout if you prefer. Thank you for your patience!

Ukraine Blanket Appeal

We’re making blankets for displaced Ukrainians.

Thank you so much to those who have already sent squares to the Blanket Squares for Ukraine project. We are so touched that Trine of CaMaRose has very kindly answered our call and agreed to donate DK-weight yarn that customers can use to knit blanket squares! Stop by the shop to pick up a ball of HVERDAGSULD yarn and then drop the square back with us. We’ll also be hosting a knit-along on Thursday 2 February at the Finsbury Library as part of their Winter Warmer sessions. Stop in from 6:30 to 7:30 pm and join us to knit, crochet, or stitch squares together. The address is:

Finsbury Library
245 St. John Street
London

Any and all help is much appreciated! You can find out all about the Blanket Squares for Ukraine project and how to get involved on our website.
