Seriously Squoosh-able Yarn
We told you a couple of weeks ago to expect big things in 2014 – well, one of those big things has arrived! Say hello to Squoosh. Loop now stocks the completely delectable Merino Cashmere Lace from this indie dyer and we’re pretty much over the moon about it. Cosy enough to keep your hands feeling comforted whilst knitting, but light enough to make a wrap or shawl that will take you through to spring, Squoosh is a heavy laceweight that’s seriously soft. It’s not called Squoosh for nothing – once you’ve picked up a skein, you won’t be able to not squeeze and smoosh and dream of what it will one day be.
Squoosh is a heavenly mix of 80% merino, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon. Smooth and plied, the merino and cashmere make it oh-so-soft, while the nylon gives it the hint of sturdiness it needs to hold a lace pattern and wear well.
And the colours are delicious too! We have brights as well as moody greys and neutrals – and can’t stop picturing a whole array of stripey shawls, mixing and matching the beautifully rich shades.
But then a whole cosy wrap in one saturated hue might be nice…
Off the top of our heads, Squoosh would make a stunning Ishbel or Beginner’s Lace Shawl. Or you could take it even further and make the cosiest Featherweight Cardigan ever. We bet you’ve got some ideas though – what would you make?!
You’ve just made me break my no lace rule. Two skeins will turn into this beauty: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/blooming-stitch-shawl
I have no self control!
Oh my what temptation! Just gorgeous!
