The Wonders of Snefnug Watercolour
You know the wonders of CaMaRose Snefnug. Impossibly light and incredibly snuggly, super fluffy without any extra bulk. In a word, it’s magical.
Well, if you’re a Snefnug devotee (and you can count us among your number), prepare to be wowed again. The new Snefnug Watercolour is so serene and beautiful that it’s kind of breathtaking. Inspired by the quiet moments in nature, Snefnug Watercolour finds the subtle movement in stillness — the silvery shimmer of a birch tree, the electricity of a full moon against a dark sky, the verdant sponginess of a forest floor.

The earthy yet etherial hues in this new collection balance cool and warm tones to bring this gorgeous base to a whole new level of sophistication. We love the way these gently variegated colours come together, and how in their understatement they speak volumes. By echoing the natural world, knits in Snefnug Watercolour look at home anywhere and stand out everywhere.

CaMaRose Snefnug is ethically made, mulesing-free, and doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals (OEKO TEX standard 100 certified). It’s hard to think of anywhere we wouldn’t want to use this base, but there’s no denying it’s perfect for cardigans and sweaters or super warm accessories like hats and scarves. PetiteKnit’s Sophie Hood or Cloud Sweater would look brilliant in Snefnug Watercolour, as would the Dreamy Cardigan in “My Size” or “For Girls” by Trine Bertelsen of CaMaRose!
Celia Pym SOCKS

Our dear friend Celia Pym is going to be in the shop next weekend for maybe one of the most hands-on book events we’ve ever hosted. In Celia’s latest book, SOCKS, she tells the story of teaching an entire primary school how to mend their own socks. It’s truly a gorgeous book about art, craft, and the ways we all develop our stitching skills. Being able to see a snapshot of how curious children use their hands, from nursery through year 6, is definitely nostalgic for those of us who started our making journeys when we were young and also a real inspiration to keep sharing skills and learning new ones, no matter what your age!

All of Loop’s copies of SOCKS are signed by Celia and on Saturday January 31st she will be in the shop from 4:30 to 6:30pm to talk about her experience. We’ll also be hosting a free Sock Mending Salon during that time where everyone will have a chance to try their own hand at mending. Though this won’t be a taught class, our middle floor will be stocked with mending materials and instructions for those feeling inspired by Celia’s work to get mending straight away! We’ll have some socks for you to practice on, or you can bring your own to stitch up (who doesn’t have a mending pile a mile high?) This isn’t a ticketed event, so please feel free to stop in!
New Colours of Hedgehog Fibres and Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails!

We’ve had gorgeous deliveries of Hedgehog Fibres Sock Yarn and Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails. We adore both of these bases so much, and it’s always a treat to get new stock. Hedgehog Fibres always makes the most wonderful socks, with colours shifting in serendipitous and unexpected ways, and Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails open up a world of possibilities with mini skeins of the same base as Tosh Merino Light. Use these charming minis for granny squares or just to add a bit of an accent to your latest knit! Hedgehog’s Heartbreaker, Stardust, and Daisy Chain (pictured above) are joined by Desert Rose, Folklore, Cousin Gwen, and Dahlia to bring seven incredible new colourways to our collection while Jewelwing and Chicken of the Woods are welcome additions to our set of Unicorn Tails!
