Funky Floral Fun from Mondo Fil
More beauty from Mondo Fil! There is truly no limit to the totally imaginative inventions of this yarn company, and we absolutely adore it.
It’s not hard to see the high fashion roots of Kyoto-based Mondo Fil. All of their yarns have a bit of extra flair, a bit more oomph, just that little something that elevates an ordinary fibre to an artistic expression. Our latest obsession is Sesamo, a looped yarn like you’ve never seen. Alternating strands of ikat-dyed wool and acrylic form loops and a stitched yarn core, resulting in a gorgeously light and fluffy yarn that evokes a beautiful flower garden.

Once knitted up, Sesamo has a wonderfully soft and lightweight feel and makes a serious statement. Each of the five colours at Loop has its own feel, but they all share a nostalgic botanical vibe that is totally unique. We love using Mondo Fil yarns to add accents and finishing touches to our pieces — an extra special cuff here, a statement collar there — and Sesamo would also be great for stand-out accessories like a cowl or bucket hat.

We Love Mondo Fil‘s full range of yarns. Gauzy Ponza and Ischia, accented Oshare Pompom and Papiyon, and super bright Plastic People each unlock so much potential for creativity whether you want to use them in knitting, crochet, weaving, or something else entirely!
Uncommon Thread Restock

We’re totally stocked up on two of our favourite bases from The Uncommon Thread — Uncommon Everyday and Cloud Fingering. Like the name implies, Uncommon Everyday is a reliable all-rounder that’s anything but bog standard. Hand-dyed right here in the UK (in scenic Brighton) and with loads of colours to choose from, this is a fantastic yarn you’ll always want to have in your stash. Cloud Fingering is an excellent base for anything you want to be a bit softer, and its alpaca, merino, and cotton blend make it a perfect substitute for people who can’t wear mohair. We love Cloud Fingering for soft accessories you’ll wear close to your skin. It’s a perfect time to stock up on these two beauties!
Independent Shops London

We are so thrilled and honoured to be included in Michelle Mason‘s new book Independent Shops London. We are super proud to be a part of the community of London’s independent businesses, and we love to see so many brilliant and unique shops shown some love. This would be a great guidebook for visitors who want to see a different side of London, and for locals it might just open your eyes to corners of the city you never knew about!
xoxo
