Late Bloomer Kerchief Kits — and a Selvedge Winter Fair Ticket Giveaway!
It was love at first sight when we first saw Kristin Ledgett’s Late Bloomer Mittens back in 2020. Now we’re falling in love all over again with the Late Bloomer Kerchief!
The Late Bloomer Kerchief is really a joyful piece that will keep you super warm and cosy while also helping you think happy thoughts through the colder months. The pattern was developed for The Knit Cafe, and we’re just smitten with it. So many of you have made and loved Kristin’s Late Bloomer Mittens over the years using our popular kit, so it was a no-brainer when we saw the kerchief version that we just had to kit it up!

Our Late Bloomer Kerchief Kit comes in three colours of Big Bad Wool Weepaca, a super squishy and delightful yarn. It’s soft enough for baby knits, so you just know you’ll love wrapping up in this. Our worsted weight version comes out a little bit bigger than the size in the pattern, but that just makes it even more cuddly. We’ve chosen three Loop-y colours for our kits. “Faded Teal”, “Katie Bug”, and “Pea Soup” are as charming as their names suggest and will bring very welcome pops of brightness to even the drabest of winter days.

For the Loop version, we’ve done the flower embroidery a little bit differently from how they’re done in the original pattern. We wanted to make them pop as much as possible, so we’ve made them a bit denser and more dimensional. Don’t worry, there are clear instructions on what we did included in the kit!

The Late Bloomer Kerchief Kit comes with 3.5 skeins of yarn — all you’ll need to complete the kerchief and floral embroidery — plus a Loop cotton project bag and an insert of the embroidery motif and instructions. The pattern is not included but can be purchased on Ravelry. We hope you love this kerchief as much as we do!
