Crochet Takes Centre Stage

Crochet Takes Centre Stage

Crochet is having a moment. From runway regalia to everyday attire, everywhere we turn it’s coming up crochet, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

We’re not the only ones taking note. The fabulous team at Amirisu have noticed as well, and that’s why they’ve decided to bring out their very first pattern collection dedicated wholly to the fabulous versatility of this craft. This year’s Daruma collection, Lumières, shines a light on the fun, fabulous world of crochet!

The annual Daruma collection from Amirisu has previously taken inspiration from realms as diverse as outer space and traditional British fashion. This year the collection takes a turn for the philisophical, with patterns named after great thinkers from history. Everything in this collection is crocheted, from trendy hats to sweet amigurumi with a world of wearable tops in between. Lumières launches at the end of September, and it’s available to preorder now!

We instantly fell in love with the Hume Balaclava by Lis Smith in Amirisu’s 2025 Daruma collection

We’re so excited for the launch of Lumières that we couldn’t wait to put together a special kit for one of the patterns, the Hume Balaclava. This is a super special pattern that celebrates the humble granny square in a hip and wearable piece that’s sure to turn heads.

We’ve hand-selected two choices of yarn for this kit. One uses Gepard Woolia and sticks close to the original colourway as shown in Lumières. The other uses De Rerum Natura Ulysse in a rich, autumnal (and very “Loop”) palette. With each kit you’ll get all the yarn you need to complete the pattern, which is only available in Lumières. Best of all, if you purchase the kit and the book at the same time, you’ll receive a 15% discount on the book! Just add both items to your basket and you’ll see the discount on the book automatically at checkout. The kits will be released at the same time as the book, and both are available for preorder now!

A New Granny Square Deck by Claire Montgomerie

A new collection will be joining the ranks of Claire Montgomerie’s popular Granny Square Card Deck series!

Nothing says crochet cool like Claire Montgomerie. Hot on the heels of her stunningly successful The Granny Square Card Deck and The Granny Square Flowers Card Deck, Claire Montgomerie is at it again with The Granny Square Stitches Card Deck — and she’s bringing a super special preview to Loop! The latest addition to Claire’s card deck series will launch on 11 November, but Claire will visit on 1 November for an early celebration crochet extravaganza. First, she’ll host a Granny Square Workshop (hurry, this is very nearly sold out) at Loop. Then, from 4 to 5 pm Claire will be in the shop for a Meet + Greet where she’ll sign copies of the new card deck, and be around for a chat. We can’t wait to see you there!

Sous Sous Anniversary Edition Printed Pattern

Last week we brought you the Sous Sous Anniversary Edition Kit, an update on the classic pattern by Norah Gaughan designed for Loop. This week we’re so pleased to release the standalone Sous Sous Anniversary Edition Printed Pattern, which many of you have asked for! With pattern in hand you’re welcome to choose whichever colour of Uncommon Everyday strikes your fancy — and there are so many to choose from! Don’t forget all our anniversary specials are on our 20th Anniversary Collection page.

Laine 26 — Crossing Paths

The autumn issue of Laine Magazine launches today and it’s full of cosy wonders! The whole issue focuses on one neighbourhood in Helsinki, bringing that close-knit feeling that always seems to arrive with chillier weather. If summer is for frolicking far afield then autumn is for circling closer to home — always with a crafty project at hand, of course. This issue features 12 patterns to see you through the season, including a worthy gilet called “Gilly” knit in Woolfolk yarns, the fabulously oversized “Waveform” shawl in Isager Spinni, and a new shawl from Melanie Berg called “Trustfall”. We can’t wait to add these beauties to our autumn wardrobe!

USA Shipping Reminder

Shipping to the US resumes from today, with a Delivered Duties Paid (DDP) service in place. This means you will be charged the full total, including tariffs set by the US government, when you check out. Royal Mail is estimating US customers may see extra fees between 6% and 10%.

Why the change? The US has removed the “de minimis” exemption for low-value shipments from the UK, which means even smaller orders can now be charged these tariffs. These are government-imposed fees, not charges from us, and the exact amount depends on the product and where it was made. With DDP, you’ll know everything upfront and can look forward to your order arriving without extra hassle.

Thanks so much for your patience and understanding!

Next week Sophie Ochera will be launching an adult version of her “Original Sweater” knitting pattern. We’ll have some exciting news about a Loop kit for the pattern using John Arbon yarn in some of our favourite colours. Make sure to check back!
