A Match Made in Heaven: mYak, Heimathafen, and More!

A Match Made in Heaven: mYak, Heimathafen, and More!

Sometimes things just go together perfectly. Tea and biscuits, wine and cheese, Fry and Laurie. And there’s one more to add to that list: Heimathafen and mYak.

Heimathafen in Isabell Kraemer’s original colourway

mYak’s Fior di Lino yarn could not be a better fit for Isabell Kraemer’s sweet and timeless Heimathafen Sweater. Fior di Lino itself is a perfect combination of fibres, blending the softness of mYak’s signature baby yak fibre, the warmth of wool sourced from Tibet, and the nautical hardy crispness of linen. This yarn seems like it was almost custom designed for this number.

“Heimathafen” translates to “home port”, and there’s no doubt that this versatile sweater will become a second home, whether you’re pottering around the house or heading out. The sweater is worked from the top down using dip stitch colourwork. Raglan shaping and minimal finishing make this sweater a fun knit and a comfy all-rounder when you cast off.

The gorgeous hues of Fior di Lino lend themselves so well to this pattern. With a few choices of neutrals and some really stunning colours, we’re sure you’ll find a colourway that’ll suit you well. In fact, we love this pattern and yarn so much we’ve been playing with a few different colour combos here at Loop, and we can’t wait to see which ones you put together! If your favourite colour is sold out stay tuned as we’ll have more of this yarn arriving next week!

And that brings us to another one of our favourite pairings: “pattern” and “free”. We’re totally chuffed to be able to offer you a complementary copy of the Heimathafen PDF pattern when you purchase at least five balls of Fior di Lino. Just add your yarn and the pattern to your basket online and the discount will be applied automatically!

Hikari Bloom Ito Osaka Kit

Spring is here and everything is blossoming, including the Ito Osaka Kit! This fabulous colour block scarf has been one of our go-to pieces for years, and we’ve so enjoyed playing around with so many different hues and moods to give it a different feel. Now, we’ve curated a selection of Loop-y colours to celebrate the joys of the season, and we’re super pleased with how it has turned out! Our new Hikari Bloom version embraces the boldness of spring as well as its softer edges. We adore it!

Lykke Tools

Sustainability. Pair it with just about anything and you’re on to a winner. We love our tools from Lykke not only for how joyful they are to use, but also because they’re made from sustainable materials. Joining the crew this week are a new Swift and Ball Winder in sustainably sourced Acacia wood. We’ve already featured these beauties in Rosewood and Mango, and we’re thrilled to welcome this third option, which is tonally somewhere between the other two. Swifts and ball winders are two of those tools that just make your whole knitting experience feel a bit more seamless, and these lovely ones from Lykke are some of our favourites!
