A Suite of Crafty Treats

A Suite of Crafty Treats

Gorgeous yarns? Curated kits? Haberdashery bits? Communal knits? What’s your ultimate indulgence when it comes to crafty joy? We love them all in equal measure, of course, and this week we’ve got something for everyone.

Let’s start with the most essential item for any project: the yarn! There’s nothing we love more than being fully stocked in our favourites. The choice of the fibre, colour, weight, and feel of your yarn totally shapes the finished project, and we like to have as many options on the table as possible. We’ve just restocked our vast range of colours in Lang Jawoll, our whole collection of CaMaRose yarns, and luscious Uncommon Thread Cloud Fingering. Let your imagination run free!

When it comes to classic Loop favourites, our kits take the cake. These are the patterns, yarns, and colours we come back to again and again and they never get old. Kits like the Soundwave Static and On The Spice Market are so near and dear to our hearts. We always think about our dear friends behind these finished products — designers Fabienne Gassmann and Melanie Berg, plus the yarn geniuses at John Arbon Textiles and La Bien Aimée. A pattern, a kit, a project is always so much more than what meets the eye!

Get your project un-stuck at our Knitting SOS sessions.

And there’s nothing like stitching together to bring the experience of crafting to the next level. Loop has always been about community, after all. We love imparting new skills, whether that’s teaching an entirely new stitch or just helping you decipher a tricky pattern. Our regular run of Knitting SOS Sundays are one of our favourite ways to connect with all of you, and as luck would have it, we have one this Sunday 8 June! We’ve also confirmed two more dates for later this summer: 13 July and 17 August.

We’ve also added another date for our popular Pressed Flowers Kerchief Class October 26th. The goal of this class is to help beginners learn how to make this fab design by Amy Christophers. Taught by Rhona MacKillop, participants will receive 3 hours of tuition, 2 balls of wonderful Gepard Woolia yarn, and 1 Addi circular needle — plus the pleasure of tea, biscuits, and good company.

20 years of Loop Love

All of these lovely things have landed at Loop against a backdrop of bustling activity as we prepare to celebrate our 20th anniversary this July. We’ve been working with some of the most wonderful textile artists around — Mette Mehlsen, Norah Gaughan, Claire Montgomerie, Aitor Saraiba, Julie Arkell, Tabby Booth — to bring you an abundance of beautiful things to mark the occasion. Julie will also be doing a special window decoration for us in July to celebrate, and we’ll have a weekend of festivities on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July (more detail on that soon).

We can’t wait to see as many of you as possible in July. As you plan your visit, please note we will be closed on Saturday 26 July for a private event.

XO
