Aimée Gille and Guests in the Shop and a Very Special Kit

Aimée Gille and Guests in the Shop and a Very Special Kit

The wait is over! With the launch and trunk show for Neons & Neutrals upon us we are bringing you our very special kit for one of our favourite patterns in Aimée Gille’s latest book!

Come meet Aimée Gille in the shop tomorrow! She’ll be joined by some very special friends from the knitting world.

We hope to see many of you tomorrow, Saturday 29 April, for our Neons & Neutrals Book Launch and Trunk Show. We are so honoured that Aimée chose to kick off the European leg of her book tour at Loop and we can’t wait to bring our community together to celebrate this great book! In addition to sold-out ticketed events, on Saturday from 2 to 5 pm everyone is welcome in the shop to look at samples, chat with Aimée, Jonna from Laine (the brilliant publisher of this book and so many other wonderful knitting publications), and other special guests, and of course stock up on the yarns you’ll need to get knitting!

Whether you can join us or not, we will be fully stocked with LBA kits and yarns as well as our lovely La Bien Aimée with Loop in London Limited Edition Project Bags designed just for this event. Everything will be available online from tonight at 6:30, when our first ticketed event begins. It’s a total LBA love fest!

Our project bag for the Neons & Neutrals launch at Loop

One of the kits we’re most excited about is a brand new one we’re launching this weekend. We have been so excited to bring you our Confluence Kit since Neons & Neutrals first launched and it’s finally ready to make its debut!

This sweater designed by Caitlyn Turowski is really lovely. The shape is romantic and feminine without being overly flouncy, and the combination of Madelinetosh Merino Light with La Bien Aimée Mohair Silk is simply inspired. Caitlyn is a knitwear designer based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and this sweater pays homage to her hometown. The name “Confluence” refers to the point where the Allegheny and Monogahela Rivers merge to create the Ohio River, and the three stripes around the cuffs represent the three rivers.

Confluence is a relaxing knit for experienced knitters but also great for first-time sweater knitters or those interested in learning more about mixing bases. This sweater really shows off how different colours and bases interact, with the body knit holding two yarns together and the collar, cuffs, and hem worked with the yarns held separately. The gorgeous marl of the main body of Confluence is thanks to both the colours of the yarns as well as the texture play of holding a fingering weight and lace weight yarn together.

Confluence is a top-down knit with tons of interesting features. A folded collar makes the neckline neat as well as comfortable, balloon sleeves add some flair, and subtle raglan shaping before the sleeve split makes the fit dreamy. We’ve hand-picked the most beautiful Madelinetosh Merino Light colour “Grapefruit” and La Bien Aimée Mohair Silk colour “Sansa” for our version.

Loop’s Confluence Kit comes with all the yarn you need to make the sweater as well as our specially designed Loop and project bag to keep everything together. The pattern is available in Neons & Neutrals and Caitlyn has even uploaded some tutorial videos to her YouTube channel in case you get stuck.

Let the celebrations commence!

Beautiful Bags

Hold onto your hats! Two of our very favourite handmade, hand printed bags are back in stock this week! Both Miesje Chafer Project Bags and Swarm One-of-a-Kind Hand-Marbled Pouches are in the shop in some gorgeous and groovy new patterns. Miesje Chafer’s new bag print just for Loop is “Pimmie“. It is bright and tons of fun, and we have more of her other three colourways available too! These project bags are heavenly. They’re made of sturdy cotton that will stand up on its own, fully lined, and have a drawstring closure to keep your yarn from bobbing all over the place. The new batch of Swarm Pouches are just as spectacular as the last, and of course totally unique. Each one is individually dipped in suspended ink two to four times. No pattern is replicated twice, and each pouch has a different design on the front and the back. The dyed heavy cotton canvas is lined with vintage French linen and finished off with the Swarm wax seal and a zip top. What are you dreaming of keeping in these bags?
