As you’re probably well aware by now, we are absolutely smitten with lace knitting. With only a few different stitch techniques, lace knitting can take on so many different personalities and be just as versatile as you are. A lace trim can give the extra little something to simple scarves and cardigans, and a full size lace shawl can be the pride of your family and the envy of many. If you find lace knitting intriguing but a bit daunting, well look no further, our Introduction To Lace will have you doing yarn overs in your sleep before you know it! We have two dates coming up, Sunday 23rd October, and Saturday 4th December. Click here to book your space.

Another favourite technique that will have your knitting pals take an extra look is the wonder that is double knitting; the technique to make a two-sided stockinette fabric with mirrored pattern. Complicated, perhaps, at first glance, but all you really need to know to master this magic is just knit and purl stitches and that’s it! Nathan Taylor, (aka Sockmatician on Ravelry, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter) is obsessed with double knitting, and loves nothing more than the lightbulb moment, when someone’s brain clicks, and he knows that a new double knitter has been born. Demystifying Double-Knitting takes place on Saturday October 16th, book your place now.

If you, like many of us, thought that mending and darning was meant to be discreet, and ideally invisible, well think again! Textile artist Celia Pym will make you think differently about fixing seemingly ruined items and teach you how to take your darning to the next level. Classes at Loop London-12
Julie Arkell’s anniversary doll for Loop’s 10th birthday, and both her books are currently in stock.

No season would be complete without a workshop taught by Loop friend extraordinaire Julie Arkell. Julie’s quirky dolls and artwork are just amazing, and we are always incredibly proud to host her classes in the shop a few times a year. The next workshop is coming up on Sunday 27th November and is sure to sell out, so grab your place while you can!

In addition to the few mentioned here, we also have many other interesting classes scheduled this autumn, such as Embroidery with Jessie Chorley, and Melanie Berg will visit us from Germany again for a few different classes. Go to our list of knitting classes to see what’s coming. As always, we also host classes in other beginners and improvers techniques for both knitting and crochet, all the way to finishing techniques. And if you can’t find a class for a specific technique you’d like to work on, you can always get in touch with us to organise a private class in anything you’d like.

And finally, a quick heads up to all you crochet enthusiasts out there; textile designer and crochet genius Jane Crowfoot will be back in early February 2017 to teach another workshop. If this sounds like an absolute must for you, please send us an email or give us a call and we’ll put you on the waiting list so you’ll be among the very first to hear when the workshop is available to book.
