Boulette Scarflette Fête!

We gave you a sneak peek last week, and now the day is finally here! The fabulous and fun brand new Loop original Boulette Scarflette Kits are available today in all their granny square glory!

This scarflette is exactly the type of project we crave in the springtime: captivating, easy to bring on the go, a breeze once you get a hang of the pattern, and of course the kind of thing you want to wear the second you finish the last stitch!

Plus, it’s always nice to know that your labour of love will see you through more than the current season, and the Boulette Scarflette ticks that box as well. You’ll see us wearing this on chilly summer evenings, crisp autumn mornings, and well into the winter! We’re totally obsessed with this brilliant concoction and adore how it shows off all the loveliness of Laines Vilaines Boulettes Solitaires Fing.

Those who know Loop will know how much we love this yarn, so it’ll be no surprise that when we started cooking up something special for spring, these sweet little “yarnlings” were our top choice. The name “(Vi)laines” plays with the similarity between the French word for yarn (laines) and naughty girls (vilaines), and that duality is on display in founder Marion’s yarns — both vivid and muted, fun and sophisticated. Marion’s approach is a great reminder that it’s ok to be a little bit bad once in a while, and the result might still be stunning! Her yarns are just beautiful and an absolute treat to have in the shop.

For the Boulette Scarflette Kit we’ve hand-selected three colourways we love: Autumn Hues, Silvery Pastels, and Happy Pop. Each of these combos brings a totally different vibe to the piece, from the bright and dark contrast of Happy Pop to the moody and muted tones of Autumn Hues to the serenity of Silvery Pastels.

You’ll master the granny square pattern after completing a few, and from there it’s just a matter of using your creativity to select the colourway of each square! You can’t go wrong with any of the yarns included in the kit, but of course if you’ve got a particular favourite you could always order a boulette à la carte and add it to your palette.

The scarf as designed is composed of 74 granny squares arranged in two columns, but you can play around a little with composition, maybe arranging them over three columns or making two shorter scarves (one for you and one for a friend!)

Our Boulette Scarflette Kit comes with just about everything you need to make this piece. You’ll get a full skein of the main colour plus six boulettes to use in different combinations for each of the squares. The kit also includes a printed pattern and a Loop cotton project bag. Just add a crochet hook and tapestry needle! We can’t wait to see the Boulette Scarflettes out there in the world!
