Comfort in knitting &crochet with beautiful blankets
As the days are getting colder and quiet evenings are spent at home, there is nothing quite like the comfort, both literally and figuratively of a handmade crocheted or knitted blanket.
As knitters, we know how the rhythmic movement of yarn and needles allows us to switch off and enjoy the solace of time spent in the moment. Much of life seems to be experienced at lightning speed these days so the time it takes to sit and knit, crochet or stitch row after row is a welcome break.
The warmth and comfort we need in stressful times is perfectly encapsulated in a hand-knit or crocheted blanket. We have some wonderful kits at Loop with everything you’ll need to create something exceptionally beautiful and comforting for yourself and your loved ones.
Mrs Moon Spring Bedspread
Mrs Moon’s Spring Bedspread Kit is a real statement blanket. A modern twist on a 1970s crochet classic, it is absolutely stunning, super warm and will last generations. The kit contains all the yarn you’ll need to crochet this incredible bedspread.
The pattern uses the super-soft alpaca and merino blend of Mrs Moon Plump in a DK weight which is only available in the kit. This is a super simple and fun to make project.
Mrs Moon Sunburst Crochet Granny Blanket
If you love crocheting granny squares, the Sunburst Crochet Granny Blanket kit is another beautiful heirloom blanket, slightly smaller than the Spring Bedspread but with the same easy to make granny square design. This kit includes all 19 skeins of Plump DK and the pattern.
Mrs Moon Chevron Blanket
Another beautiful kit from Mrs Moon is the crocheted Chevron Blanket. This one is all about colour and striking chevron stripes. Using the incredibly soft and sumptuous Mrs Moon Plump Dk, the kit includes 2 skeins each of all 9 colours and the pattern. This is a perfect crochet project for a beginner as well as the more experienced.
Loop’s Yaku Blanket
Loop’s Yaku Blanket kit is a colourful and engaging knitted blanket using CaMaRose Yaku. Yaku is a super soft fingering weight yarn of 100% merino wool which has been superwash treated making it machine washable. This kit comes in two sizes, a baby size perfect for a pram or crib and also a junior size which makes a lovely throw for your favourite chair or sofa.
The printed pattern is available separately as a fingering weight pattern (Loop’s Blanket) using CaMaRose Yaku or as a DK pattern (The Beginner’s Blanket) using the CaMaRose Hverdagsuld. The pattern is a very simple garter stitch and could be customised for something very neutral and sophisticated or super colourful and fun.
CaMaRose Harlequin Blanket Kit
As well as kits ,we stock many beautiful blanket patterns allowing you to customise colours and yarns of your choice. The Harlequin Blanket designed by Trine Bertelsen of CaMaRose Yarns was inspired by Trine’s childhood summers spent in Tivoli Gardens, an amusement park in the centre of Copenhagen.
The pattern uses CaMaRose Hverdagsuld a 100% wool that is soft and machine washable and we have over 32 colours to choose from! A good substitute for the Hverdagsuld might be the Semilla Organic DK or the De Rerum Natura Gilliatt, both beautiful and soft 100% wool in a great range of colours.
CaMaRose Baby Blanket
If you are looking for a knitted heirloom baby blanket we love Trine Bertelsen’s beautiful Baby Blanket pattern. This one is designed for CaMaRose Yaku with a pretty leaf fall lace pattern and crochet border. We think this one would be super beautiful and soft in the Krea Deluxe Organic Cotton as well.
For baby blankets there are so many beautiful options to choose from. Pictured in the photo are; (from bottom to top)
