Embellishments
As summer draws to a close, and autumn arrives (bringing lots of rain to London), we’re pulling out our knitwear, and those almost-completed projects, in need of a few finishing touches.
We have some new buttons, and we’re stocked up to the rafters with ribbons galore – we’re hoping this lovely little collection will encourage you to finish that cardigan, shawl or sweater you’ve had on the back burner!
Buttons
We have a carefully sourced collection of wonderful buttons – they are the perfect item to finish off a project.
In the past few weeks several deliveries of fancy buttons have arrived, and we are so happy to have them at Loop.
We just love these buttons – there are so many sweet little details that make them perfect for adding to simple cardigans. We have lots and lots of designs on our website, in our ‘Buttons‘ section, but these are a few of our very favourites.

These only have limited availability; they’re just one-offs, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!
We also have some amazing vintage brooches in the shop at the moment! These were also carefully sourced at flea markets, in the UK and France.
Our buttons are also perfect for sewing projects, if you enjoy dressmaking too!
Ribbons
Loop stocks lots of ribbons – we have over 20 different kinds! The simpler grosgrain, canvas and silk ribbons sit alongside beautiful one-of-a-kind ribbons sourced in India.
The Bungalow grosgrain ribbon comes in 54 different colours, and is perfect for finishing steeked edges! The Monahan ribbons are sourced in the USA; they’re hand dyed, which gives them a lovely finish. We like to use the Monahan ribbons to weave through lace holes, as we did for our Oleander Lace Wrap!
The Indian ribbons stocked at Loop are so detailed, with lots of lovely little stitches and sequins, and some are very wide. These ribbons are good for adding to jacket cuffs, the hems of jeans or the edge of a pocket. The widest ones could even be used as bias binding for a blanket.
