Fancy Tiger Heirloom at Loop!
Look what’s landed at Loop this week, just in time for the cold weather. It’s the beautiful, rustic and warm Heirloom from Fancy Tiger Crafts. Raised, milled and dyed in the US, it’s a 100% Romney wool yarn. Â Romney sheep are the descendants of English medieval longwool breeds, and produce a lustrous, hardworking wool with a long staple length, which is perfect for warm, sturdy items that will hold up to wear for years to come. We love that the name they chose for this yarn, Heirloom, reflects that. And it’s not just the fibre that we love so much about this yarn – it’s those colours! Fancy Tiger teamed up with hand-dyer Jeane deCoster of Elemental Affects to create a fun and modern palette of colours – we can’t decide which is our favourite!
We fell so instantly in love with Heirloom as soon as the five big boxes landed at Loop, that we couldn’t resist stringing a few of our favourites up in our autumn window. The colours have been stopping passers-by in their tracks ever since!
We do, of course, have plenty of suggestions on how to use this delicious yarn. Also new in are patterns from Fancy Tiger. This is My Favourite Sweater – a customisable, perfectly fitting, classic pullover.
The Imposter’s Shawl – using just 2 skeins.
The Quandary Peak Mittens – one skein each of two colours.
The Guillemet Hat, in just one skein.
We could think of about a million more ways to use this yarn – mixing the amazing colours, making accessories, or sweaters we’ll wear forever – Â but we’ll let you do some dreaming too!
Oh I love the colours!!!
More gorgeous ‘stuff’! In town for the day tomorrow (Saturday) so will be in to see you – again.
Happened to walk by on Saturday before the Country Living Show at the Business Design Centre and was immediately attracted by the delicious colours.
We had come over from Germany for the show. We really loved the atmosphare at the shop. So glad it’s getting colder outside so that we can knit all those delightful hats and mittens that we have in mind.
