Handmade Beauty and Luxurious Craft Accessories This Week at Loop
We have fallen hard for Re:Designed project bags and storage cases. My goodness do these folks know how to cater to the discerning crafter. And having two new project carriers in the shop this week has us giddy.
This Danish luxury brand is unparalleled when it comes to style, craftsmanship, and above all utility. Founded over 20 years ago, these people have really figured out what works, and they’re able to seamlessly bring the aesthetic sensibility of high fashion to the crafting world. And when it comes to ethics, Re:Design is top of the line. Their leather production follows the animal welfare standards we fibre artists have come to expect, and their products are shipped 90 per cent by sea, saving the carbon emissions of air travel. They also make sure everyone who works on their products are treated fairly.
Just arrived this week are the Project 10 and Project 31 knitting cases. These are totally dreamy. They’ve thought of everything, from space for extra skeins to spots for knitting needles or crochet hooks, haberdashery supplies, yarn needles, and all the other bits and bobs we just can’t go without.
The Project 10 bag has a jaunty angular zip that allows the bag to open up perfectly to sit on a table and display all your supplies, almost like a clamshell. Two capacious pockets keep your WIP and spare yarn at hand while a central zipped envelope and two elasticated side pockets keep smaller bits secure.
The Project 31 case is perfect for those who prefer a top-carry case that generously opens to hold all your yarn in one place. A snap-in, snap-out haberdashery pouch makes access to everything you need easy and secure, plus needle or hook holders and side pockets keep essentials at hand.
The quality of these is above and beyond. Buttery soft yet durable leather and meticulous attention to even the tiniest detail make the overall look and feel of these just totally incomparable. We can’t get enough!
Beautiful Things from Sophie Digard
We’ve received more exquisite handmade beauties from the incredibly talented Sophie Digard. All of her items are totally one of a kind, with each piece carefully made by hand. This week we’ve been treated to some really wonderful bags and shawls, and it seems like you’re loving them as much as we are!
Merino Floral Bags are the definition of a stunning accessory — eye-catching, comfortable to wear and carry, and still extremely practical. The Floral Raffia Bag is the summer tote you’ve been dreaming of. It’s easy and breezy like a warm day in a wild meadow and of course expertly crafted. Both of these bags have flat bottoms, so they can stand up, and convenient internal pockets for keeping everything in order.
If you’d rather wear your flowers than carry them, new Dahlia Shawls and Exquisite Flower Shawls will do just the trick. Both of these wonderful linen pieces will suit any summer vibe, whether you’re attending a family wedding or just popping down to the farmer’s market. Sophie’s intricate and totally unique flower designs will stand out in any crowd!
Anne Ventzel’s design and Uncommon Thread yarns are a match made in heaven in this very special kit! Our very own Bella Blocking Sweater Kit features divine yarns from Brighton-based independent dyer Uncommon Thread that we’ve picked specially for this pattern. Cloud Fingering is remarkably soft and fluffy, and best of all at 400 metres a skein, you’ll only need one of each colour to complete the first two sizes of Anne’s fab sweater. Our kit comes with enough yarn for sizes one and two, plus a handy Loop project bag. For the larger sizes, you can purchase an extra skein of each Cloud Fingering colour separately. The pattern can be purchased on Anne’s website or her Ravelry page.
Oodles of new hues have arrived from Qing! We’ve had so many treats from Qing lately and we’ve loved every single one. A whopping 12 new colours of Silk Mohair have arrived as well as three new Veranita colours. We always love to expand our collection of Qing and these latest arrivals have really added so much depth and variety. “Boysenberry” is like the ripest, juiciest summer fruit, “Balala” adds bright acidity, and “Kiki” is off the charts when it comes to neon joy! Come check out all the new arrivals.
Happy knitting!
