Head in the Clouds — Welcoming the New Cloud Cardigan!

Head in the Clouds — Welcoming the New Cloud Cardigan!

Our brand new Cloud Kit is available for preorder today, and we are on cloud nine! The amazingly squishy cosy Cloud Cardigan designed just for Loop by Fabienne Gassmann is pure heaven.

Think of your favourite, cosy piece in your wardrobe. The one you want to put on as soon as you get home, but also looks good enough to wear out and about. Maybe it was a vintage find, maybe it was a hand-me-down. If you’re anything like us, that piece, worn day in and day out, is starting to look a bit shabby around the edges. Enter Cloud Cardigan. This phenomenally fluffy little number was designed based on a favourite of Susan’s (so you know it must be good) and we’re absolutely certain it’ll soon become your go-to as well.

The striped BC Garn Semilla cuffs are a perfect finishing touch for this incredible cardigan

The Cloud Cardigan mixes your fuzziest sweater with your hippest varsity or bomber jacket. It’s like wrapping yourself in a hug, but it’s also a showstopper on the streets. Fabienne has found such a great balance between cosiness and good looks. We’re totally in awe.

Cloud Kits are available to order from today, in three colours and two kit sizes (covering five pattern sizes). Olive, Dusty Pink, and Slate Blue offer three totally different but equally stunning palettes in Woolfolk Flette Bulky and BC Garn Semilla DK GOTS yarns. Each kit comes with all the lovely yarn you’ll need, a printed pattern, and a Loop cotton bag.

The incredible yarns behind the Cloud Cardigan.

Our lovely Loopettes are busy putting the finishing touches on these kits. They are available for preorder today, and they’ll ship from Monday 16 January. We’ll also release the pattern on its own in a few weeks’ time, so stay tuned for that if you’re keen to mix up the colours!

Qing in a New Colour!

Speaking of clouds, the new Qing colour “Floating” is making us feel easy breezy and maybe even a little giddy. This ethereal pastel brings all the depth, variation, and stunning hue we’ve come to expect from Layla Qing. This colour is absolutely perfect for spring knits. Floating is available in Qing Dashing and Qing Silk Mohair. The Dashing would make a stunning Tiny Tassels shawlette and the Mohair can be held with another Qing base or on its own for a veritable puff ball of warmth. We can’t wait to see your knits!

Lichen and Lace Colours Galore!

We have a whopping 11 new colours in the shop from Lichen and Lace! First up, “Golden Lake”, “Peach”, and “Pumpkin” are the latest to our Lichen and Lace Sock Minis palette. Never has a workhorse yarn been quite so fun. This yarn is the ultimate combination of practicality and playfulness. Totally machine washable (80% superwash merino, 20% nylon), it’s perfect for socks (of course) but also baby knits, colourwork sweaters, or adding a dash of colour to whatever you’re working on. “Snow” and “Ginger” join the Rustic Heather Sport brigade, and no less than six new colours of 1-ply Merino Fingering have landed: Buttercup, Calm Waters, Peach, Peony, Plum Jam, and Woods! We have so much love for the yarns from this Canadian powerhouse.

It’s All Coming Up CaMaRose

The CaMaRose Smock Sweater is gorgeous and fun.

The incredible CaMaRose Smock Sweater pattern is back in stock at Loop! Along with a ton of skeins of Midnatssol, which is held double in this sweet, fluffy, flattering piece. We fell in love with this pattern by Trine Bertelsen of CaMaRose as soon as we saw it. It’s super cosy and warm for winter, but it’ll also be a great statement piece come spring, making it the perfect thing to get on your needles right now! This pattern is also available in a Cardigan Version, which is named for our very own Susan and is a wonderfully playful take on the pullover.
