Jumper-ing for Joy

Ready to cast on for your next big knit of 2016? Whether it’s your resolution to finally knit a garment, or you just want to get your needles casting on a big project we have a selection of our top jumpers that should satisfy every knitter.

Jumpers at Loop

Keep things classic with the timeless style of cables. Cascades and Backbay take on a more traditional style, both using the textured fleck of Brooklyn Tweed Shelter. Match your cables with a touch of lace with the flowing shape of Sous Sous or a choose more a structured number courtesy of Quince & Co.’s Wickerwork. And who can resist a jumper with owls?

Maybe you prefer your stitch detail to be a more lacey affair? The gorgeous yoke details of Sibella and Snowflake balance the plain stocking stitch, or the lace panel of Peabody allows you to really show off those yarn overs! Or for the subtlest hints of lace at the collar and cuffs, Corrina provides the answer.

Include some pops of colour with some quintessential fair isle yokes from Stasis and Skydottir or chic stripes and polka dots with Eaves and Linnae. Or if you’re feeling really adventurous, stash bust and play with all the fibres and weights for your own Enchanted Mesa.

Sometimes though, you just need a big chunky jumper to cosy up with. Using some of our thickest yarns, these designs are quick on the needles. Butte and Agnes use Quince & Co.’s thickest yarn Puffin and Annabel is close behind with the chunky Osprey. Brooklyn Tweed’s Quarry showcases the waffle stitch texture of Deschutes, or keep it speedy, simple and comfy with Mrs. Moon Plump and Chunky Boxy.

Or if your planning your knits for days when the sun starts to shine, we have some lighter garments too. Linen is perfect for warmer weather, and we love Quince & Co. Sparrow for pretty tops like Emmaline. Thinner weights like Finch and Tern make for light and easy to wear Compass and Dolores. Or you could try a floaty Floret that uses the mohair/merino blend Piper for the softest jumper for those in-between days.

And for the most discerning of tastes, some elegant knits that we think would suit guys and gals alike! Play with colour and textures with Drangey, and Denali or keep it low key with the uncomplicated silhouette of Redford and Oshima. And make sure no-one is left out with the cute Campfire Pullover with sizes that range from 6 months to extra large!

Last year we started our Loop’s 10 Knit Along. Many of you have been busy over holidays finishing off your projects and posting your finished knits on Ravelry – and there has been some beauties! This forum will stay open for queries and to share you knits with fellow Ravelry folk, but those of you who posted in the FO Thread before the 10th January have been entered into our prize draw! And the winner of a £25 Loop voucher is …. user name Milkybar! Congratulations! We’ll be in touch to let you know how to claim your prize.

Until next week, Happy Knitting and Crocheting!
