Enfin! Luscious merino and mohair from La Bien Aimée have arrived!

Enfin! Luscious merino and mohair from La Bien Aimée have arrived!

We are so excited to have received the rest of our long-awaited shipment from La Bien Aimée! Sumptuous Merino Singles, delicate Mohair Silk and versatile Merino DK are all filling our shelves and we couldn’t be more pleased.

Hand-dyed in small batches in the heart of Paris by Aimée Gille since 2015, La Bien Aimée yarns are sure to delight. Their subtle specks and semi-solid colours lend a richness to each skein and make for fun opportunities to mix and match.

These yarns are great for shawls, and to celebrate their arrival at the beginning of summer, we’re offering two shawl kits inspired by their designers’ love of sand, sea and bobbing boats, both found in the book 52 Weeks of Shawls.

Quicksand is a triangular shawl worked sideways with a rope-like cable pattern meandering through brioche pockets. The Quicksand kit features four skeins of the Merino DK in the colour Peerie Voe, a rich ecru with green undertones and aubergine highlights.

Venus is a large parallelogram-shaped stole worked in garter stitch from one short edge to the other. The Venus kit contains four skeins of Merino Singles and three skeins of Mohair Silk, both in the earthy white Sansa colourway. 52 Weeks of Shawls will be back in stock in July!

July will also see the return of the On the Spice Market Kit, which features a bright mixture of La Bien Aimée merino singles. This versatile asymmetrical shawl designed by Melanie Berg design brings texture to any occasion. Keep an eye out!

Beekeeper’s Secret – A new pattern by Melanie Berg

Melanie Berg has designed this gorgeous rectangular wrap that’s the perfect weight for bright spring mornings or to take in the last of the summer evening sun. The pattern uses mYak Ra-ku Cashmere, which we’re proud to stock at Loop. Melanie’s is knit in the colour Zabaione, a gorgeous rich ochre gold-yellow, and we have five other colours of the same yarn as well. The pattern is available on Ravelry.

Schtickle for Charity

Occasionally we come across something beautiful and useful but imperfect. When we do, we put them in our ‘Schtickle for Charity’ and all proceeds go to a worthy cause. We are currently raising money for Doctors Without Borders (Médecins sans frontières). Choose from great yarns and kits or try your luck with one of our Mystery Parcels!
