To learn more about our latest yarn infatuation, we caught up with Megan Ingman of Lichen And Lace to discuss her passion for hand dyes and knitting.
Tell us about the yarn, what were you thoughts and motivations for creating this yarn?
I love 1ply yarn – or more properly, singles yarn. I love the organic nature of it and how it sometimes winds back on itself – so having a singles yarn with enough yardage to make a shawl out of one skein was a no-brainer for me.
What’s your process like when creating colours?
My favourite process for creating colourways is by happy accident. I love layering weak washes of dye over yarn – I think my best colourways are created this way.
What are you working on right now, anything we can look forward to in the future?
I have plans to release a rustic yarn that will be dyed in soft tones that will be perfect for knitting woolly sweaters.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I love cooking, baking, drinks with friends, coffee, tea, decorating my home, restaurants, watching my kids’ sports events, reading, sewing, knitting, blogs, pinterest, and travelling.

This is indeed a yarn made for shawls and we just can’t seem to stop knitting them. The 1ply Merino Fingering is soft and easy to work with, and knits up plump and bouncy with beautiful drape. The colours come out just as stunning as they do in the skein.
