Make it Tweed, Make it Mini, Make it Stitched!

Tweed season is nearly upon us, and this week we’re having tons of fun turning all our yarns to tweed with Rico’s super fun Make it Tweed! And with the 11 fun patterns in their special Mini Shawls collection, our needles aren’t likely to stop clicking anytime soon.

Rico is always coming up with such fun concepts, and Make it Tweed is no exception. These delicate thin strands are perfect for holding double with whatever yarn weight strikes your fancy. Each strand is bursting with different colours, and the effect once knit is as though your main yarn were a tweed.

The six different colours of this yarn we have in stock can really be used to stunning effect against whatever main colour you’re working with, whether you want to amplify a bright colour, lighten up a dark one, or bring some depth to something on the lighter side. And we’ve been having a ton of fun using them to bring Rico’s Mini Shawls to life with a bit of extra texture.

These little pieces are serious fun to make, and they knit up so quickly you can easily stitch yourself a brand new playful neckwear repertoire in time for autumn! Floral Embroidery Workshops with Rosita Studio

For those looking to learn more stitching skills, look no further than our absolute beginner and intermediate floral embroidery workshops with Maria Gispert Bahí, the stitch expert behind the wonderful Rosita Studio. Maria will join us on 16 November to host a Beginner Floral Embroidery Workshop in the morning and an Intermediate Alphabet Sampler Workshop in the afternoon. In the beginner’s class, Maria will cover eight stitches and show participants how they can be used to make flower motifs. In the intermediate class in the afternoon, Maria will apply these same eight stitches to a much broader range of flower patterns — covering the whole alphabet! You are very welcome to sign up to both classes if you want to refresh on the basics before tackling the alphabet or if you just want a bit longer in the afternoon to stitch with Maria’s expert hand nearby!

Aimée Gille is one of our favourite yarn people to work with and we always love to see what she’s dreaming up in her Paris studio.
