Making a List, Checking It Twice

Can you believe on Sunday it will be December? It has snuck up on us as well! As much as we’re enjoying all the holiday spirit, we’re also realising time is suddenly running short to make sure we bring a bit of the season’s magic to our favourite people’s lives. If you’re feeling strapped for time fear not — we’ve got tons of gift ideas in store.

The Gifts page of our website is a great first stop on any holiday gift shopping expedition, with ideas for all types of needle craft. There are so many things we love in this section it’s impossible to choose a favourite, but we’ve pulled out a few standouts. The best way to find the perfect item is to take a look yourself!

Books are always a favourite to find under the tree, and there are so many gems in our collection of crafting books. It looks like the hot books of the season will be Marianne Isager’s A Knitting Life 3 – Tokyo Tversted and Dee Hardwicke and Jonne Helin’s Cultivate. Both of these books were so popular that our initial stock ran out! Thankfully we have more stock of Cultivate in the shop now, and you can preorder a copy of A Knitting Life from our next batch. The latter should be with us in the first half of December, and hopefully in time to make last shipping deadlines (though we can’t guarantee this, sorry!) We also have a wonderful range of beginner-friendly books like The Beginner’s Guide to Crochet, Stitch School’s 50 Stitch Embroidery Booklet or Laine’s 52 Weeks of Easy Knits can act as the seed of a rich creative pursuit in loved ones old and young. The gift of craft is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

As a very special Christmas treat, we’ve put all of our lovely items from Sophie Digard on sale while stock lasts. Sophie’s incredible handmade items always wow us, and they make truly special gifts for loved ones at the holidays. Brooches, bags, and scarves are all exquisite with Sophie’s fine touch, and they’re sure to delight (whether you’re buying for yourself or someone else)!

If there’s one thing we love, it’s filling a stocking with treasures. Holiday Treats and Fun

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here on Camden Passage, and we’re thrilled to be able to share the holiday feeling with all the other businesses and friends who come to visit! Tomorrow (Saturday 30 November) we’re joining in celebration with our neighbours for Friends of Camden Passage Christmas 2024 from 2pm until the evening. There are going to be so many fun things going on all afternoon, like a DJ, a roaming Camden Passage Scrooge, fashion shows, dance, and much more. It’s sure to be a real treat! We’ve also extended our opening hours on select dates ahead of the holidays. Today (Friday 29 November) and on our regular weekday open days next week (Wednesday the 4th, Thursday the 5th, and Friday the 6th of December) we’ll be open an extra hour and a half in the evenings, until 7pm! We always end up with great ideas for how to integrate creativity more into our everyday lives! From painters to woodworkers to textile artists, this magazine celebrates craft in every form.

If you’re looking for an all-rounder piece of haberdashery, you truly can’t do better than Floops Flox Multi-Tool. We’ve just received more of these and they’re as fab as ever.
