New Classes and Old Favourites Ring in 2024 at Loop!

New Classes and Old Favourites Ring in 2024 at Loop!

With the holiday season winding down, January can seem long and dark. But with plenty of cosy hours for stitching and tons of time to dream up projects for the year ahead, it’s actually one of our favourites. And this year is especially sweet, with classes kicking off, old favourites back in the shop, and a sale on a very special yarn!

If your New Year’s resolution involves learning a new craft or getting better at one you already love, why not sign up for a class to get you on your way? Whether you’re a beginner knitter or looking to improve, new classes at Loop for 2024 are just the ticket. We’re running our Beginner Knitting Evenings series on the 7th and 14th of March, and our three-hour Improvers Knitting sessions will be held on two upcoming weekend days: Sunday the 25th of February and Saturday the 20th of April.

Learn to make Olivia Mouse with Yanina Schenkel!

Don’t forget we also have a few spots left in our PicaPau Amigurumi Class with Yanina Schenkel on the 27th of January. If you’ve been dying to graduate from granny squares to other types of crochet, our morning Olivia Mouse session is absolutely perfect. Crocheting toys is such a joy, and Yanina is a true master. Plus, this session will be hosted by our fantastic neighbours Frequency Coffee. Get ready for a complementary beverage and a very cosy stitching environment!

Our whole roster of classes and workshops for 2024 is shaping up beautifully. In addition to the above we’ll be hosting a Mosaic Crochet Sampler Workshop with Esme Crick in May, a Crochet Granny Square Workshop over two Saturdays in March, and many many more that we’ll announce in the weeks to come! We’ve also added three Knitting SOS dates: the 28th of January, 11th of February, and 24th of March. Stop by the shop from 10:30 am until noon on these dates for free knitting help. No need to book! Don’t forget you can always browse all our classes on the Loop website.

Mina Perhonen Fabric Swatches

We have a brand new batch of incredible fabric swatches from Mina Perhonen in the shop today and they’re as fabulous as ever. These little treasures are so great to have on hand for inspiration. Each swatch on its own is beautiful, and the combinations of different swatches can be so evocative — they almost tell a story. These are great for super special quilting and patching needs. You could even add some of your own stitching to Mina’s incredible motifs!

Super pretty Copper Berry Stitch Markers are back in stock! These are some of our absolute favourite stitch markers and they’re handmade just for us. Antiqued copper findings and a 10mm riverstone bead combine to make a totally spectacular and sweet stitch marker. It’s so special when we have these in the shop, but they always go so quickly!

Quince & Co Owl Back in Stock

Squishy Quince & Co Owl is a delight to work with.

We love Quince & Co’s Owl yarn! Satisfyingly woolly yet squishy and soft, this is a dreamy all-rounder that knits up to a lovely medium weight of about 4 or 5 stitches per inch. With three undyed and a dozen dyed colours to choose from, there are tons of options to match your colour palette or play with multiple hues. Justyna Lorkowska’s Flaum cardigan is a great example of what this yarn looks like once knit and a fabulous, fun, functional pattern to use this wool for.

A Few Colours of Life in the Long Grass on Sale

“Viking” is just one of the lovely LITLG Fine Sock colours on sale now!

To make way for some new colours we’ve put a selection of Life in the Long Grass Fine Sock on sale! This is a great opportunity to buy a really gorgeous sock yarn without the splurge. Using muelsing-free wools from farms in the UK and Peru, these yarns are hand-dyed in West Cork, Ireland. A little boost of nylon (25%) makes this great yarn for hard-wearing garments that still need to be soft, like socks and children’s items, and this base is superwash for easy care.

The shop is getting a new lick of paint later this month and we’re taking the opportunity to do a huge stock check at the same time. To allow all this important work to take place, we’ll be closing both the London and online shops from the 15th to the 18th of January, inclusive. We’ll open up the online shop again from the evening of Thursday the 18th and our London doors will open again on Friday the 19th. Thanks for your patience!
