Plucky Knitter at Loop!

Loop has long dreamt of carrying the exquisite Plucky Knitter Yarns. We can now announce that our dream has come true! Not only do we have their Primo Fingering and Bello Worsted yarns in some of their lush colour staples, but we have six bespoke exclusive colourways that were developed just for Loop!

Plucky began in 2007 when sisters Sarah Dimond and Hayley Scharping could not find colours in the marketplace, that captured their personal vision of beautiful hues. Thus began their journey as indie dyers and their desire to create a truly unique product.

The sisters live and work in southwest Michigan.

“It’s a lovely rural area, with lots of lakes, trees and rolling hills and a mere 3 hour drive from Chicago, Illinois.”

We asked Sarah why she chose Loop to carry their yarns.

“Loop seemed like such a natural choice. Hayley and I have always loved Loop, both the store and your online presence! It’s such a fantastic shop that we have enjoyed shopping in so many times. Plucky in Loop feels like a very natural fit, and we are so happy and feel very privileged to have it there.”

I discovered for colour to truly sing, it must be placed on superior yarn. This led to my extensive search for the perfect luxury fibers that allowed for the ultimate combination of yarn and colorways.
Our yarns are custom milled to my specifications and are available only to Plucky. In a mass produced world, Plucky yarns are exclusive and unique. They are then hand-dyed in the barn studio in Michigan.” ~ Sarah Dimond

We agree that their base yarns are exquisite! Primo Fingering is made with the finest Merino and Cashmere with a tiny bit of nylon for added strength. It’s incredibly soft and has great loft! A 100 gram skein yields 353 metres (385 yards).

The Bello Worsted is made with the finest Merino and 45% Cashmere. It’s incredibly sumptuous, with each 105 gram skein yielding 183 metres (200 yards).

We love this yarn so much that we’ve knitted two new versions of Pop Spots with it. They’ve both come out super squishy and cosy!

Angel is Set to Sparkle

Mark your calendars as Angel, Islington is all set to Sparkle this Saturday November 18th!

Check out the independent shops of Camden Passage and Upper Street.

At Angel Central, Santa and his elves and reindeer are switching on the Christmas lights at 5pm.
There will be musicians and living statues around the Angel, hot chestnuts in Chapel Market, mulled wine, hot cider tea and mince pies in Camden Passage, the cast from Hoxton Hall’s ‘Puss in Boots’ and much more! Here comes Christmas.
