Skein- Merino Cashmere Fingering
This week we are delighted to welcome back Skein Merino Cashmere Fingering! If you missed this gem the first time round, we are not surprised – it simply flew off the shelves and then off the needles to create gorgeous knits. With a kaleidoscope of 41 colours to choose, ranging from blush soft shades to blended marbled tones, we are so glad that this beautiful yarn has found a home again on the shelves at Loop.
Dyed by a small, independent company in Australia, this yarn is just as soft as its blend of 80% merino and generous 20% of cashmere suggests. The techniques used at Skein results in a yarn which is dappled with small applications of colour. The random nature of these short repeats, creates a subtly speckled knitted fabric, instead of unwanted pooling.
Light and soft, we think it is that perfect one skein luxury for little shawls such as Ishbel (or even using two for the larger size!), or Simmer Dim. If you have fallen in love with two colours, then one of Loop’s favourites Andreas Shawl was just made to show off how good a semi solid and a variegated can look together. However, instead of going on about how lovely this yarn is, we think it is best to show you how exquisite these skeins are! We love the freshness of Lemongrass complimented by zing of a spring green and yellow.

These purples make us think of dreamy dusk skies, and when matched with the cocoa richness of a soft brown – delicious!
Unwound Skein Right = Sea Salt
The merino cashmere base really takes on the intensity of the dye, giving a colour that almost glows. One of these blues could be the inspiration for the two colours needed for a Crow Waltz Shawl.
Unwound Skein Right = Fig

Ordered keen as mustard and fig they are beautiful, I am intending to use them for the stripe study shawl. They are so soft my toddler likes to cuddle them and have even caught my Husband stroking the skeins as he walks past my wool basket.
