Spring Socks!
This Toe-Up Socks with Afterthought Heel Pattern is a Loop favourite. We’ve offered it, as a free pattern, for the last five years and we can see that at least 423 of you have listed your projects on Ravelry!
We thought it was time to refresh the pattern and make a new version in one of our favourite sock yarns, Madelintosh Twist Light.
We made our original with two colours of Madelinetosh sock yarn in 4 and 2 row stripes!
This allowed us to make four socks that could be worn in pairs, or pleasingly mismatched, co-ordinates.
We’ve made a lovely new pair of semi-solid spring socks in  Madelintosh Twist Light.
Twist Light is a soft-yet-durable, sock-weight superwash merino and nylon blend; perfect for socks.
We used the delightful colour, Conference Call because it reminded us of spring skies!
Or how about Silence Was Golden to celebrate the bright greens of spring!
If you like our original idea of stripes, you could combine Twist Light Coquette Deux and The Radness for a delightful set of spring steps.
We have 66 stunning colours of this perfect yarn ~ including 10 new ones this Spring!
We’ve kept the heels and toes in Lang Jawoll sock yarn because we like the contrast, but you can use your main colour yarn if you prefer.
We chose Bird’s Egg (372) to complement the blues in the Tosh Twist Conference Call.Â
You can refer to our original tutorials for making the afterthought heel and the figure of eight cast on.
