It’s starting to feel a bit more Autumnal in London, and we look forward to starting the season with lots of classes and workshops to inspire our creativity.We have lined up some excellent classes and workshops in crochet, knitting, punch needle and textile techniques, where you’ll learn new and improved skills to keep you busy and inspired throughout the Autumn and Winter months.

Resilient Stitch:Wellbeing and Connection in Textile Art

Claire Wellesley-Smith is an artist, a teacher , a writer and researcher based in West Yorkshire.   We have loved Claire’s work for a long time, and we have had some wonderful workshops taught by her at Loop. Her first book Slow Stitch is a beautiful book about the pleasures to be had from slowing down and valuing quality over quantity.

There has been a little whirlwind of activity at Loop recently. To start with, a gorgeous troupe of exquisitely hand stitched and embroidered horses and lavender sachet ladies have made their way from distant shores – all the way from Australia- to our little shop in London.

Well, it’s nearly the end of 2020. While most of us are probably glad to see the end of it, there is a lot to look forward to and at Loop, we have been making lots of plans for 2021. We wanted to take this opportunity to highlight some of the wonderful things we’ve been able to bring you this year as well as thank all of our customers for your incredible support over the last 15 years! This week we want to tell you all about an exciting event we have coming up at Loop this Autumn! Loop is hosting another ‘Darners in Conversation‘ talk on 27th November – we ran a similar event last year and it was wonderful! Last year, Hikaru Noguchi and Celia Pym came to talk all about visible mending, and its place in their textile practice. This year, in November, we will be welcoming Celia and Hikaru back, and we will also be welcoming Rachael Matthews.
