The Wild Craft of “Stitching with Nature”
What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever stitched with? Maybe you’ve explored different fibres, played with old and new materials, or picked some wacky colours, but we’ll be you’ve never pushed the limits as far as Katerina Knight!
We could not be more thrilled to welcome Katerina’s new book Stitching with Nature this autumn. In it, she explores how to incorporate flowers and other plants into stitch work, with utterly stunning results. Katerina isn’t working with natural materials turned into threads, but actual, recognisable pieces of things that grow in your garden.

Stitching with Nature, which will be released on the 1st of October, focuses on four plants — lavender, cornflower, dahlia, and statice. For each one, Katerina delves into the history of the plant, the stories that have been told about it over generations, and how it can become part of your garden and your craft work. The book is available to preorder now, and we are so so honoured that Katerina will join us at Loop this autumn for a workshop based on her book!

The October session of Katerina’s workshop sold out so quickly we’ve decided to add another on the 14th of November. This workshop is an incredible opportunity for some hands-on instruction from the master of stitching with nature, as well as a chance to play around with gorgeous materials supplied by Katerina. It’s the perfect way to make sure you know all the techniques you’ll need to start incorporating the beauty of the natural world directly into your work. With an emphasis on working at your own pace and the calming effects of stitching, the Stitching with Nature Workshop with Katerina Knight promises to be a really wonderful and inspiring day. We hope you can join us!
Cuties from The Wee Bears

It’s always such a delight when we get more lovely Wee Bears (plus their dog, bunny, and mouse companions, and sweet beds and benches to boot). These handcrafted critters are from the imagination of Lesley McCormick. Made with care using specially selected mohair fibres and beautiful fabrics, these wee ones have tons of character and a classic feel about them. With delightful wireframe Beds and Benches, you can create a cosy little corner for your bear, dog, bunny, or mouse!
Beauties from Mette Mehlsen

We were overjoyed at our gorgeous delivery from Mette Mehlsen! We fell in love with her exquisite yarn cakes as soon as we saw them, and we still get a little jolt each time we receive more. This beautiful organic wool coloured using plants from the western part of Jutland, Denmark, where Mette lives has so many different uses, from knitting and crocheting to stitching. This week’s arrivals include Natural Dyed by Mehlsen Single Cakes as well as Geranium Scarf Kits, which include 12 cakes of Mette’s plant-dyed wool and a printed pattern for the wonderful triangular Geranium Scarf. Treat yourself to some really wonderous yarn!
Loopy Loveliness

If there’s one thing we love, it’s a functional tool that’s been made beautiful, and that’s why we’re head over heels in love with our Handmade Wooden Gauges. We all know what a difference even a fraction of a milimetre can make when it comes to knitting gauge, and these are the perfect way to make sure you’re working with the right needles, even long after the markings have worn off. In acorn and beehive shapes, they’re lovely to look at, too!
Happy crafting!
