Welcoming Oodles of Restocked Favourites!

Welcoming Oodles of Restocked Favourites!

We’ve had a flurry of deliveries this week at Loop, and we’re surrounded by some of our very favourite things, including yarns, kits, and haberdashery bits!

A Plethora of Kits

The beautifully intricate Pop Spots Shawl is deceptively simple to make.

We have remade so many of our lovely Loop kits! Pop Spots, designed by Juju Vail and featuring custom-dyed yarns by La Bien Aimée, Qing Fibres, and The Uncommon Thread, is a real Loop spectacular. The finished crescent-shaped shawl is incredible too, with spots that really pop and a modified lace border. The kit includes a full skein of each of the three yarns as well as the printed pattern and a project bag.

We’ve also restocked Florence Spurling’s Scout Shawl Kit and Scout Mini Kit. These intricate shawls use intarsia and Fair Isle methods to create a beautiful, patchwork-like effect. The original Scout Shawl Kit includes five colours of Madelinetosh Merino Light and the Scout Mini Kit includes colours designed by the Canadian dye studio Émilia & Philomène specifically for this pattern. These kits allows you to play with the full spectrum of pattern colours while saving you from buying five full skeins! Plus they come with a project bag. The patterns can be purchased separately through Ravelry or Florence Spurling’s website.

Sunny, happy Two of Daisies kits!

The Two of Daisies Lil Scarflette Kit is our super fun collaboration with Lindsay Degen. With big, bold graphics and super fun bright colours to play with, this knit is simply a ball. The main colour and contrast colour switch halfway through, making this a playful scarf of two halves. The colourways Lindsay, Susan, Rhona, and Carol are in stock right now, each named for the person who chose the colour pairing (and we’re sure you’ll recognise the names of a few Loopettes in there!) In addition to all the yarn you’ll need and a printed pattern book, this kit comes with a custom-designed daisy project bag.

Two of the very brightest versions of our Tiny Tassels Kits are back in stock. We’ve created so many different versions of the Tiny Tassels Kit over the years and each one brings its own special twist to this classic Loop pattern. In bright pink “Ichigo” La Bien Aimée Cashmerino and electric red “Fizz Wizz” Qing Dashing, this shawlette pattern really shines. The kit includes all the yarn you’ll need plus a cotton project bag and a printed version of the pattern, which is also available to download.

The Baby Cloud Cardigan has three different neckline options: hooded, no hood, and hooded with ears! If you want to make a hooded version with the kit you’ll need to purchase an extra skein of Flette.

Last but not least, we’ve restocked our most recently released kit, the Baby Cloud Cardigan. This sweet sweater is sized for ages 0 to 2 years and will quite possibly be the coziest thing your little one will wear. The body of the sweater is knit in squishy Woolfolk Flette DK and the cuffs feature Biches &  Bûches Le Petit Lambswool. This kit includes all the yarn you’ll need, wooden buttons for the front closure, a printed pattern, and a Loop cotton project bag. Please note that while there are options to add a hood or a hood with ears in the pattern, the kits have only enough wool for the hoodless version. Those who want to add a hood should include an extra skein of Flette in their order.

Exciting Yarn Restocks

Sweet Oshare Pompom brings a bit of fun to any project!

We’ve had tons of special yarns arrive in the shop, including some new colours of our absolute favourites. First, we’ve restocked the super fun and very playful Mondo Fil Oshare Pompom. A lace weight yarn with fluffy pompoms interspersed, this is a super fun accent to add to projects by striping, holding double, or adding along the edges of blankets, shawls, or even sleeves. We have nine colours of this beautiful yarn from Japan.

Mondo Fil pompom yarn and Oshare the Love blanket

When you buy a cone of Oshare Pompom we’ll also include a copy of Big Bad Wool’s Oshare the Love Blanket, which uses seven skeins of Big Bad Wool Weepaca and one cone of Oshare Pompom to make a super sweet baby blanket.

These colours work as well together as the yarn’s textures!

Dimond Laine Elmer Fingering yarn in our special, just-for-Loop, limited edition colour “Egg” and a boulette of Laines Vilaines Silk Mohair in “Seducing Mr. Freeze” are a match made in yarn heaven, and available now as we’ve made more Limited Edition Yarn Bundles combining the two! These colours and yarns are just perfect together. We know a lot of you have been making Petite Knit’s Sophie Scarf with the bundle, but it will suit any one-skein project!

We’ve also received Loop favourite Daughter of a Shepherd Drover Sock. Yarn maker Rachel Atkinson achieves gorgeous colours by blending natural and un-dyed wool, which is then spun by John Arbon Textiles with a high twist and a bit of nylon added for strength. In addition to the three original colours, we have just received two new colours: Drumaldrace, which is a very pale grey, and Buckden, which is neutral. These two join dark Whernside, mid grey Ingleborough, and light grey Pen-y-Ghent to make a gorgeous greyscale rainbow.

Tynd, Flette, and Far have arrived from Woolfolk as well. This versatile range of wools really shows the range of the fibre. From bouclé Flette to chainette Far and twisted Tynd, the textures you can achieve with Woolfolk’s yarns are really stunning, and each one is beautiful and soft to the touch. We love these yarns and so do some of our favourite designers, including Melanie Berg and Stephen West, who have both made patterns using these yarns. Check out our full list of pattern recommendations on each yarn’s page on our website!

Fabulous yarns from La Bien Aimée

On top of all that, a whopping eight boxes of La Bien Aimée yarns have arrived in the shop as well. We’ll have the new colours up on the website next week!

Welcoming the Fabulous Fabric Tote

We’re already counting the days until the next batch of these arrive!

We love the Fabulous Fabric Totes that have just arrived from India! So many of these have flown out of the shop in just a few days — but fear not, there are more on the way! It takes a real creative eye to transform something as utilitarian as a truck seat cover into something as stylish as a tote bag, and we’re so happy to be able to bring that spark to our little shop in London. Whether you’re looking to carry everyday essentials or bring your latest project with you on the go, the Fabulous Fabric Tote is a unique accessory with an unexpected backstory. Each bag is approximately 26 x 28 centimetres, or 10.5 x 11 inches. In addition to the recycled fabric body, the strap is made from recycled belts. If the colour you like is out of stock, make sure to click “notify me when available”. That way you’ll be the first to hear when our next shipment arrives!

ChiaoGoo Needles

We’ve restocked our full selection of ChiaoGoo Needles! From individual circular needles to interchangeable sets and a la carte lace tips to boot (plus double-pointed sets and much more). ChiaoGoo needles have the quality that have made them the go-to choice for crafters the world over for years. Whether you’re just starting off knitting or looking to invest in some long-term tools, these needles and crochet hooks will be dependable companions.

Beginner and Improver Knitting Dates Added

Linda Litchfield is returning to Loop to teach another round of Beginner and Improver knitting classes this spring and summer. Linda has been knitting and teaching for years and her classes are a perfect way to start your knitting journey or take your skills to the next level. The Improver class will be held Saturday 25 May from 11am to 2pm and the Beginner class will take place over 16 and 23 June from 11am to 1pm each day. We’re always adding more Classes on knitting and other crafts. See which one takes your fancy!

Wishing you a happy weekend!
