Wonderful Woolfolk
Quite simply the softest merino we’ve come across, Woolfolk is a dreamy yarn with a cashmere like touch. Woolfolk yarns combine the highest quality wool with ethical, sustainable practices and we are proud that Loop is their UK stockist.
Spun and milled in Peru, Woolfolk have worked closely with farmers to create the fibre they use, Ultimate Merino®. Their methods produce the finest merino wool, eliminating coarseness and a fleece that is smoother allowing a luxury fibre that also brings a greater depth of colour when dyed.
And we can vouch for that sumptuous cloud like quality! Tynd is Woolfolk’s 4ply yarn, plied with a soft twist.
Of course, we had to find the time to have a play with all the colours, adding to the mix Tynd‘s marled sister Sno.
We also have Far to introduce you too, which is Woolfolk’s chainette aran, bouncy, soft and still made from the same gorgeous merino.
Generously loaned to us from designer Lori Versaci, we have a collection of samples from her booklet VersaciKnits WoolFolk. Pictured below are the long cowl Chess and the hat Traverse – both show off the snuggly soft stitch structure of Far.
We also have the garment samples from Lori Versaci’s Woolfolk collection to try on next time you visit!
Other samples to admire are two cowls from her Op-Art Cowls collection (available here on Ravelry), both using Tynd.
Also, the lovely Loopette Jane has been busy this summer knitting up this incredible version of Stephen West’s Askews Me Shawl in Tynd.
The Askews Me Shawl uses that ‘stitch of the moment’ brioche, and if you’ve been meaning to try your hand at it, then why not sign up for our brioche class this November? More details can be found here
As always – Happy Knitting and Crocheting!
