A Few of Our Favourite Things at Loop

So many delightful things have arrived in the shop this week! New colours, new gorgeous handmade artworks, new patterns, and more!
Three New Colourways of Au Ver a Soie

Paris-based Au Ver a Soie has been producing exquisite silk threads for embroidery and other stitching crafts for more than 200 years, and this week we’ve received two of their thread sets in three new colourways! Bright and shiny “Glazig”, named for the eye-catching Breton style of embroidery, is available in both Silk Thread Packs and Perlée Silk Bobbin Sets. More staid “18th Century” makes a sweet Bobbin Set, and “Pantone 25” tells a story of tone and texture in its very own Thread Pack. These threads really are the crème de la crème and make lovely stitchwork, whether you’re planning an embroidered motif or some outstanding mending — or even if you don’t have a project in mind yet but want to have the right materials to hand when inspiration strikes!
New Julie Arkell Pieces

It has been nearly 20 years since Julie Arkell first walked into Loop, and we’re still totally in awe of her unique creations and artistic vision. Every time we get to feature her creatures in the shop it’s a true honour, and we’re utterly delighted to welcome “An Untold Memoir of a Squirrel” and “Handle with Care” to the fold. Like all her marvellous multimedia work, these pieces are quietly thought-provoking and constant companions who are sure to bring a bit of inspiration into your home. All of Julie’s creations are totally one-of-a-kind, and we adore every one!
Melanie Berg’s Shawl Journey

Shawl designer extraordinaire and our dear friend Melanie Berg (AKA Mairlynd) has released a gorgeous collection of shawl patterns in collaboration with BC Garn. The Shawl Journey is a must-have for shawl lovers or the shawl curious, and it’s such a fun way to explore some of the different shapes and textures that can be incorporated into these wonderful and versatile pieces. Zagtastic, Make It Yours, Kleine Schwester, and A Twist To It use BC Garn yarns Semilla and Jaipur Peace Silk, so it’s also a great way to explore a new yarn base if you haven’t tried these before. We’re so happy to have The Shawl Journey in the shop!
Limited Edition Stitch Marker Sets

April showers bring out the mushrooms! Darling Forest Floor, Toadstool, and Forest Mushroom limited edition stitch marker sets celebrate all the fun of fungi and friends, with nods to woodland flora and fauna. If you’re one of the slow knitters among us you can use your snail marker from the Forest Floor set as a badge of honour! And who doesn’t love a good tea party? The Afternoon Tea stitch marker set keeps the sweetness around long after the last drop has been drained. These sets would be so fun to mix and match to bring a picnic vibe to your knits. These sets are all limited edition and won’t be coming back into stock, so snatch them up before they’re gone!

Happy crafting!
Love these stitch markers from Never Not Knitting. They always make such beautiful notions!
