A Lovely New Lace
Now for something completely different – new Koigu Merino Lace at Loop! We have always been head-over-heels for Koigu’s wonderfully unique colourways; Koigu’s Painter’s Palette Premium Merino (or KPPPM) has been a mainstay on our shelves for years. It’s not hard to see why! The short colour repeats in the variegated skeins, or the delightful speckles, make for some very fun knitting indeed. The Babette Blanket Juju crocheted using some of Koigu’s wonderful colourways is a Loop classic. So when Koigu announced they were coming out with a laceweight, we couldn’t resist!

Of course, multi-coloured yarn and lace patterns don’t always mix – it can be a tricky balance to get right. You might find yourself weighing up whether a lace pattern will show up properly if you’ve got too many colours going on. Happily, Koigu have produced their lace in some of their stunning semi-solid hues as well as variegated shades. And we happen to think the variegated colourways would make for amazing laceweight cardigans, like Featherweight, or gorgeous lightweight shawls in simple stocking or garter stitch patterns. A shawl with a variegated body and semi-solid lace border would be divine!
We’re willing to bet Koigu Lace would make a beautiful Colour Affection – light airy, and just what these amazing colours call for. Simple stitches to show off complex colours. It would also make a lovely lightweight version of our Simple Ripple Scarf.  And wouldn’t it be perfect for crocheting a Sophie Digard inspired wrap?!
The yarn has a lovely twist to it, meaning it’s quite springy and will hold up well in garments. We couldn’t resist pairing some of the colourways, imagining how they’d look knit up in stripes!

That is gorgeous – I may well try L2410 and do http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/helene-5 . Can’t wait to come and visit you for the first time soon – just getting a rather large stash of money to get a rather large stash of yarn :-)
Just amazing…I think socks in variegated with heel and toes in plain would be lovely…a special gift for someone!
