A New Season of Spectacular Scarves by Sophie Digard!

Another season of Sophie Digard! Some may measure the passage of time in days and months; for us it’s whether we’re reaching for her linen collection or her merino line. And just as we’re starting to look towards autumn we’ve received a stunning assortment of scarves you won’t want to leave home without.

It’ll come as no surprise that we are utterly in awe of this unparalleled French designer. Each precious package that arrives from her studio is pure treasure, and we’re always so excited to see what she has created. The three designs that arrived this week have us daydreaming about autumnal occasions and falling even deeper in love with her craft.

Sweet stitched motifs adorn the Paper Flowers Shawl.

The French Knot Circus Scarf, French Knot Geometric Scarf, and Paper Flowers Shawl are the latest additions to Loop’s collection of Sophie’s stunningly beautiful handmade items. All three are made of the most wonderful merino, and each one is meticulously crafted. Starting with a fine crochet base, each scarf is embellished with hand-crafted flowers using a variety of stitching crafts and so many individual threads that combine to make an exquisite impression.

It’s really impossible to overstate the beauty of the hand craft at work here, and thinking about the deep care that goes into each element of Sophie’s work always leaves us in wonder. The Paper Flowers Shawl is adorned with intricately stitched flowers with embroidered stems and cute petals. The French Knot Geometric Scarf uses the titular french knot embroidery technique to create really wonderful and individual shapes. And the French Knot Circus Scarf is a real pièce de résistance, using layers and layers of stitches to create wonderful motifs that really show off Sophie’s knack for dimensionality.

The French Knot Circus Scarf is a true masterpiece

All of these three pieces would be a fabulous addition to any wardrobe or ensemble. Sophie’s work is truly wearable art that has the power to elevate any look. Which is your favourite?

Don’t let these diminutive snips fool you, they’re very serious tools!

These Cohana Mini Scissors may be tiny and adorable, but don’t let that fool you — these babies sure are sharp! And for a limited time we have them in some very special colours for Cohana’s anniversary. These snips are made in Seki in Japan, a town renowned for manufacturing cutlery. Super transportable and simple to use, these are the perfect snips for stitching on the go. You could even buy a pair for each of your project bags so you’re never caught out! We also love the idea of creating a little haberdashery pouch as a gift for a crafty pal or someone who’s just learning, and these would be a wonderful thing to include.

Petra Boase Iron-On Patches

Which one of these charming characters is your favourite?

We totally adore these Iron-On Patches by British designer Petra Boase. Petra founded her studio in Norwich 25 years ago and has been creating fabulous, playful things ever since, drawing inspiration from 1950s fabrics, quirky knick knacks, and colours and patterns she has spotted in her travels. These patches are the perfect way to bring a little bit of Petra’s worldview to your own creations and take your embellishments into the stratosphere!

Craft well!
