Quince & Co. capture the simple beauty of wool with a modern and fresh aesthetic. From their carefully sourced yarns to their comfortable and classic designs, we knew they’d fit right in at Loop. We’ve proudly been the European flag ship store for Quince and Co. for many years so it only seemed right that they were part of our 10th Anniversary celebrations.

Onto the next instalment in our series of 10th Anniversary blogs, where each week we’ll be revealing a little bit more about our new book, coming soon in September. A collaboration with ten of our favourite dyers and ten brilliant designers, this special project is a beautiful assemblage of all things Loop. This week we chat to designer and friend Meghan Fernandes and the talented Emily Foden of Viola yarns about their involvement with the book.

Need a replacement for wool this summer? Well we are certainly cottoning on to the alternatives! We have a huge selection of colours and thicknesses in sunny cotton and many new to Loop just this week!

Whimsical, thoughtful and charming, Julie Arkell’s work gives us a moment to reflect on the magic of making. After the success of her exhibition ‘Away’ at Ruthin Craft Centre last year, we’ve just had whole flock of Julie’s creatures come to visit. Carefully handmade from papier mâché with homely knitted outfits and embroidered details, each has their own personality and story.

When the warmer weather comes around, it’s time for light and fresh knits. Quince & Co. have that covered with Sparrow, a simple and beautiful pure linen yarn. With new shades and patterns for 2015, we just can’t resist! Sparrow plus all our other yarns and haberdashery will be available to purchase online and in the shop with a 10% discount this Saturday 2nd May. Enjoy this flash sale to celebrate Yarn Store Day!

From one of Loop’s favourite designers, Shawl Book One is a selection of Kirsten Kapur’s greatest shawl designs. Many classics (and some of her all time favourites) feature in this collection of gorgeous to knit and wear wraps, neck warmers, stoles and scarves. We caught up with Kirsten to find out more…

King of colour and specialist stitch master Stephen West is coming to Loop in May! Stephen will teach two classes on the 9th and 10th May – Knit a Top-Down Shawl and Colour Play the WestKnits Way. We are also hosting a trunk show of his patterns accompanied by a book signing which will take place on the Sunday 4 – 5pm and all are welcome to join!
