The wait is nearly over! The custom colours are filling up the shelves in the shop and already finding new homes, so now we’re just counting down the days until our anniversary publication Loop’s 10 arrives. It’s your last chance to take advantage of our pre-order discount that gives you 10% off the cost of the book. We are accepting pre-orders until midnight 31st August, so be sure to get your order in this weekend. Now we’ve revealed all the patterns and the yarns, let’s have a little reminder of the delights we have in store for you!

Julie Arkell has been a friend of the shop for many years, so of course we had to include her in our anniversary book! You have most likely seen Julie’s work in the shop – her whimsical creatures constructed using papier-mâché, fabric, wool and found objects. Make sure you read to the end of the post to find out how you can win a copy of Julie’s book ‘Away’

We’ve loved bringing you the stories behind the yarns and the patterns that have come together to make our anniversary book Loop’s 10. As the release date is on the horizon (early September!) we have a few interviews with key creatives who brought it all together. This week, we chat with Kristin Perers, who is responsible for the gorgeous photography of Loop’s 10. The custom colours are starting to arrive! Find out how you can win a skein of Dye for Yarn’s Golden Beehive at the end of the post! (Competition now closed – but we’ll have lots more in the future so stayed tuned!)

The final design we have to reveal from Loop’s 10 is the Rosemaling Mitts by Tif Fussell (also known as Dottie Angel). These classic hand warmers are a blank canvas for Tif’s signature ‘woolly tattoo’- pretty floral embroidery that she has taken to adorning her knits and clothing with. Psst! Some of the custom colours are starting to arrive! We now have Dye for Yarn ‘Golden Beehive’ and Old Maiden Aunt’s colour ‘The Angel Islington’ in stock. Plus, you could win a skein of Old Maiden Aunt this week! Read to the end of the post to find out more. (This competition …

One of the final dyers who have contributed to our anniversary book is Koigu. Their one-of-a-kind colour ways are hand painted, capturing a little bit of magic and creativity in each speckle of dye. Now we have not one, but two custom shades to inspire new projects and colour combinations. Make sure to read to the end of the blog to find out about our giveaway –  two readers can win two skeins of our Koigu Anniversary colours! (This competition is now closed – but we’ll certainly have more in the future)

When we planned our collaborations for the new book, we knew merging the adventurous and kaleidoscopic stitches of Stephen West with the rich colours of Madelinetosh would result in something remarkable. Plus, we have a bonus custom colour in this design: ‘Ghost’ from Orkney Angora. The result? A cosy shawl that is a squishy delight of brioche! Make sure to read to the end of the blog to find out how you can pre-order our new book, plus how two of you lovely readers can win all the yarn you need to make Stephen’s shawl! (Competition now closed- but we’ll have lots more …

All the contributors to our book have a significant connection to Loop and our next two interviewees are extra special as they were both once staff at the shop! Part of a legendary team of Loopettes, we chat to Claire Montgomerie and Rachel Atkinson, to find out more about their patterns that use the luxuriously soft Jade Sapphire Cashmere. As there are two designs, we have two new custom colours, ‘Oh Sweetie Pie’ a blush pink, and ‘Cloud Cuckoo’ a light moon blue.

Each week on the blog this summer we have been revealing a little more about our anniversary book. There are a whole host of amazing contributors that have worked with us making a beautiful collection of yarns and patterns that celebrate ten years of Loop! This post, we’re finding out more from top shawl designer Kirsten Kapur and the talented gals behind DyeforYarn.
