Autumn Magazines, Patterns and Books
Autumn is happening! I can see the leaves falling from the trees as I write this! Have you started knitting warm sweaters and accessories for winter? Maybe you’re way ahead and are just sewing in the ends to your Christmas knits now. (No, me neither).
If you haven’t got knitting yet, we have some wonderful magazines, patterns and books to inspire you to get going.
Magazines
The latest issue of Amirisu (Issue 14, Autumn 2017) is now in stock. Amirisu is a stylish Japanese/American co-publication that features many favourite designers.
This issue features a wonderful craft guide to London, including some of Susan’s favourite places! There are 8 patterns including pullovers, a shawl, and accessories.
Laine Issue 3, from Finland, is now in stock. It features many wonderful designers, including: Fiona Alice, Verena Cohrs, Rachel Coopey, Patricia Cox, Whitney Hayward, Clare Mountain, Justyna Lorkowska, Sari Nordlund, Joanne Spittler and Jennifer Steingass.
We carry some of the yarns they’ve used including: Viola 4ply, Brooklyn Tweed Shelter and Stone Wool Cormo.
We are always happy to suggest alternative yarns too; just ask a member of staff.
The new issue of Making (Issue No. 4, Lines) uses Lines as its theme.
There are many knit projects but Making also includes recipes, embroidery, hooked rugs and sewing in this issue.
Books
Happit is Kate Davies’ newest pattern book. it includes two essays and beautiful images of five of Kate’s favourite simple shawl and wrap designs.
Including a Loop favourite, The Betty Mowat Cowl.
The project photos for Knitting Outside the Box by Bristol Ivy have been released on Ravelry and there are some beauties. We wrote a post about this last week. The books will be in stock next week, but we are taking pre-orders now!
Patterns
We’re also honoured to stock the printed patterns by one of our favourite designers, Isabell Kraemer! We have long loved her designs and now we have them in print, at the shop. We’ve all been busy casting on some of her projects.
Here is the Dexter cardigan knit in Woolfolk TYND in one of their new colours, dusty pink. The combination of this pattern and yarn is heavenly – it’s like wearing a cloud!
Isabella’s newest pattern Girl’s Best Friend is also a beauty.
Such a fun way to play with colour and pompoms or tassels.
We hope you’re as excited as we are about all of the new printed inspiration at the shop. Happy Autumn Knitting!
What an inspiring post. I can’t wait to browse through these patterns.
Thanks Judith! We’re glad you found it inspiring. x
