Berroco Love at Loop!
Berroco yarns have been staples on the shelves at Loop for as long as we can remember. Perfect for cosy sweaters and beautiful accessories alike, we also love Berroco for its amazing patterns too. So lucky us, we recently received a delivery of a gorgeous new Berroco yarn, new colours in our usual bases and some stunning new Berroco patterns from one of our favourite designers – Norah Gaughan!
Above you can see the squishibly soft and candy-coloured new yarn, Abode. It’s a thick-and-thin yarn that features an unusual printed effect that allows the natural colour of the merino wool to shine through. We couldn’t wait to try it out and see how it knit up, so Lydia whipped up a pair of mitts from the corresponding pattern booklet:
If you like a bit of texture, then try it out! We fell in love with it – even in the heatwave we’ve been having here in London!
We still love the classic Berroco yarns, and they’ve given us even more reasons to stay in love with some new colourways in Ultra Alpaca, Peruvia Quick and Blackstone Tweed. The new Blackstone Tweed colours are marled giving a lovely heathered effect when knit up.
We’re knitting the lovely free pattern Blish in it at the shop at the moment – almost makes us long for autumn when it will actually be wearable!
Last but not least, of course, we have the new Norah Gaughan pattern book in stock at the shop, featuring as stunning a set of patterns as you’d expect from one of our favourite designers of all time – except this time they’re all knit from the top-down!
If you love clever garment construction, beautifully textured cables and perfectly wearable finished items, you will definitely love this pattern booklet. One of our favourites is the Forster pullover:
And this stunning cardi:
So now is the time to start knitting so you have some cosy knits come autumn! Keep an eye out here for more updates on new autumn yarns arriving in the shop over the next month or so!
