Introducing the Pinwheel Mitten Pattern

Introducing the Pinwheel Mitten Pattern

Loop is launching a lovely new pattern, by Ella Austin, in time for Christmas making ~ The Pinwheel Mittens. We’ve done some great collaborations with Ella before for the Spruce Cardigan and Hat. We love the simple way she designs stranded motifs. So we were so delighted to work with her again.

The Pinwheel mittens continue her design aesthetic with a charming pinwheel motif familiar from antique quilts.

We’ve knit them in Isager Highland for a subtle, tweedy look. We worked them in “Denim” and “Sand”.

These colours pair well with indigos, reds, natural wools and tweeds ~ the Perfect companion for most winter coats. None of the Highland colours are garish; you could pair any of them for this mitten pattern, with great success, as long as they have enough tonal contrast!

Try “Ivory” (which is quite yellowish) and “Wine” for a warmer combo or “Ice Blue” and “Charcoal” for a more neutral combination.

We hope you love these fingerless mitts as much as we do! We’re never without a pair in our handbags during these winter months.

You can get the printed pattern from Loop or buy the downloadable PDF from Ella.

Thank you Claire Ptak of @violetcakeslondon for the lovey cake in our photoshoot!
