  1. What do the abbreviations in the Flaum pattern mean? I am on an island with my yarn, needles, and the Flaum pattern torn from issue 8 and am clueless. PM? SM? M1L? M1PL? M1R? RM? “wyb” “wyf” “W&T”

    • Hi Ruth, here are the abbreviation meanings – hope that helps!
      Loop x
      PM- Place marker
      SM- Slip maker
M1L, M1 (M1PL) – Make one left (insert left needle, from front to back, under strand of yarn which runs between next stitch on left needle and last stitch on right needle; Knit (purl) this stitch through the back loop. 1 stitch increased)
M1R, (M1PR) – Make one right (insert left needle, from back to front, under strand of yarn which runs between next stitch on left needle and last stitch on right needle; knit (purl) this stitch through the front loop. 1 stitch increased)
      RM – Remove marker
WYB – with yarn in back
WYF – with yarn in front
W&T – wrap and turn (to wrap and turn on a RS row, knit to point specified in pattern, bring yarn to front of work between needles, slip next stitch to right hand needle, bring yarn around this stitch to back of work, slip stitch to left-hand needle, turn work to begin purling back in other direction)

  2. Hello
