Marvellous Marble — We Love New Pouches from Swarm

Marvellous Marble — We Love New Pouches from Swarm

As far as we’re concerned, there’s nothing to capture the heart and the imagination like beautiful, unique haberdashery, and our latest delivery from Swarm has totally captivated us.

Made by the same brilliant designer as our Isabella Pouches, brand new Marbled Pouches made just for loop are an absolute dream come true. We are completely smitten and to be honest a little bit lost in the unfathomably stunning patterns made by Swarm founder Leslie Oschmann.

As a Conran/Habitat and Anthropologie alumna, Leslie knows her stuff when it comes to fine objects for everything from the home to the haberdashery basket. She got her start creating objects as a five-year-old helping her dad with his carpentry business. The design and material arts lessons she learned in his workshop still drive her passion for making today.

The super special Marbled Pouches Leslie has created are inspired by historical dyeing techniques and literary traditions. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the inside covers of books were elaborately dyed using a marbling technique first developed in Japan.

The marbled dyeing method was first developed in 12th-century Japan, known as “floating ink”.

Each one of these Marbled Pouches is individually dipped in suspended ink two to four times, with totally unique dye patterns on the front and the back. The nature of this dyeing method means no pattern is replicated twice — they’re totally one-of-a-kind. The dyed heavy cotton canvas is lined with vintage French linen and finished off with the Swarm wax seal and a zip top.

These are so spectacular we are pinching ourselves. We love Leslie’s work and are so honoured to be able to share it with you.

PomPom 44 for spring 2023 is all about layering, the perfect outfit strategy for seasonal transitions when you never quite know what the day will throw at you. We can’t wait to share these beauties with you!

Tiny Tassels Kits

One piece that’s perfect for seasonal layering is the Tiny Tassels Shawlette, a Loop favourite. The more we make this shawl the more we love it. We’ve found it super easy to wear and always convenient to keep in a handbag for chilly evenings. We have many Tiny Tassels kits in stock in some of our favourite yarns, including super soft and lovely La Bien Aimée Cashmerino, delightful Qing Merino, and bright and fun Qing Fizz Wizz, the latest addition to the Tiny Tassels collection. We also have a few kits left in Madelinetosh Pashmina.

Lovely Woolfolk Yarns

Wonderful Woolfolk yarns

If you’re after some super soft, squishy, and lustrous yarn Woolfolk is just the ticket. We’ve just had deliveries of Tynd and Far, and we have many beautiful skeins of Luft, Flette Bulky, and Sno. The high-quality Patagonian wool and sustainable practices behind this wool brand make it a cut above the rest, and as there’s only one shearing a year it’s also a real treat to get your hands on these yarns. We are so honoured to be the UK stockist for Woolfolk. Our current favourite of the Woolfolk range is of course f. We have a few Cloud Kits left and we’re very excited to launch the pattern on its own next week. Ahead of the launch we’ve made sure to have tons of gorgeous colours of Flette in stock so you can make whatever colour Cloud Cardigan you want! We can’t wait to see all your glorious creations.

Flette Bulky is the main yarn in our new Cloud Cardigan, available now as a kit and next week as a stand-alone pattern!

Hooked Stuffing and Kits

Good news for all your toy makers out there, we are all stocked up with Hooked Recycled Cotton Filling which is absolutely perfect for plush toys and amigurumi. This stuffing is also machine washable and wonderfully sustainable as it’s made from fashion-industry textile waste. It’s also available in three different colours so you can choose a hue that will blend in if it peeks out between stitches. It’s the perfect accompaniment to the darling Hooked crochet kits we have, including the Hooked Monkey Mace Kit, Hooked Leroy Lion Crochet Kit, Hooked Ziggy Giraffe Kit, and Hooked Elephant Mo Kit.
